lucas walked down the road. it was dark and cold, due to the winter and he didnt have a jacket. he shivered as he saw his family home in the distance.

he sighed, as he knocked on the door. his mom answered with a smile, as the dog that him and jungwoo saved ran up to him.

he had grown, which made lucas happy.

"hey, my boy! how are you?" his parents greeted him with wide smiles, both of them hugging him.

"im.. good." he thought. he didnt want to be here but it had to be done.

-

lucas walked through the halls of the house he grew up in. everything was empty now. his parents had refurbished the whole house. even his bedroom.

he pushed open the door and frowned. his room didnt look like this.

when he was a younger boy, his bedroom was covered in posters of transformers, and all different kinds of toys were stacked on shelves.

he walked over to his bed, on which lay a box labeled "xuxi's toys."

he smiled at the name. people rarely called him xuxi.

he moved the box onto the floor, being too tired to look through it now.

-

"what do you do as a job?" lucas' dad asked him, staring at his son in interest.

this is what made lucas the most sad about his family's relationship. he had been a therapist for over a year now, and they never knew.

"im.. a therapist?"

lucas' mom stared at him, confused but shrugged, "thats cool, where do you work?"

"i... dont know.."

"that makes no sense, lucas," his dad laughed, "are you lying?"

"no.. it's just.. i live with my patient ." lucas explained in the easiest way possible.

"who is this patient? are you dating them?"

lucas nodded, smiling as he thought about jungwoo. he hadnt even been gone a day yet, and he already wished he could have him back in his arms.

"oh? who is this lucky girl?"

"they're.... not a girl."

lucas' dad chuckled, "sorry, who is this lucky lady?"

"dad.. i dont like girls."

"what do you mean?"

lucas knew this wasnt going to end well as he sat up straight.

"my client.. my.. partner," lucas started, taking a deep breath, "he's a boy."

"you're dating a man?" his mom asked, shocked.

"no." his dad laughed.

"what do you mean?"

"you're not gay, yukhei. you're confused. you're still a teenager and you dont know what you're doing," his dad taught him.

"no, dad. i like boys."

"who is this man?" his mom asked, her face clearly angry.

"his name is jungwoo, and i love him."

his dad rolled his eyes, "no you dont. you're still young."

"dad, im 19. im 20 in two weeks. but i bet you've forgotten that, as well as some decent parenting skills."

lucas didnt want to put up with this, as he stormed off to his room. he didnt care if he looked stupid, he didnt want to deal with his own parents trying to change him, after not seeing him for 3 years.

-

"mom, dad, im going out." he called to the two adults. he nodded sadly as they didnt reply.

kicking his feet across the concrete, he walked slowly down to the town.

he was planning on finding a payphone to contact jungwoo.

his wet hair laid on his head as he drank starbucks coffee.

-

"hello? jungwoo?"

he could hear jungwoo's muffled voice through the phone.

"cas! is that you?"

"yes!"

lucas smiled as he hear jungwoo's signature 'excited noises'

"are you okay?"

"yes, woo, im alright, how are you?"

"i love you and i miss you lulu, c-"

"hello?

"jungwoo?"

"where did you go?"

lucas tried to keep on the call with his boyfriend, huffing when it lost connection due to traffic.

he gave up, walking out of the phone box.
