Pain was one of the main things I was currently feeling, anger was the second.

I sat on the ground rubbing my forehead trying to ease the pain while glaring daggers at Kyle who just stood there shaking his head at me with a smug look on his face, this just fueled my anger even more. I pushed myself up and stood in front of Kyle keeping my angry look on my face and shoved past him into the office, making sure to push him into the doorframe as I did.

I could hear him shut the door behind him as he walked inside, he gestured for me to sit in the small seating area in the far corner of the room that I'd become accustomed to from all of my visits with Callighan. I sat in my favorite seat which was a soft plush armchair that had a small grey pillow on top of it, the only thing not eye burning white in the room.

Kyle's sister sat on his desk whispering something to him as he rummaged through a cabinet. The more I looked at her the more similarities I noticed between her and Kyle. They both had thick and fluffy reddish brown hair, an eyepatch Corrian's being on the right and Kyle's on the left, the main thing that stuck out on them was not only their golden eyes but the raven black horns that contrasted with their freckled pail skin, they started at the top sides of their head and curved around their ears before stopping at their earlobes. I was too busy staring at Corrian's horns to notice that Kyle had left from his position at the cabinet and was instead sitting right in front of me as he did when I first met him. I let out a sharp yelp and almost jumped out of my chair when I noticed him staring at me whit his head cocked to the side almost as if studying me. I ignored this and just took it as one of those weird things Scientist just did.

Corrian's laughter broke the awkward silence and I felt my face heat up in embarrassment. I watched as she got up from the desk and saluted to Kyle, still laughing ever so slightly as she turned for the door.

"I'm meeting up with Quinn, you take care of this one" she said wiping a tear from her eye as she left the room.

Kyle groaned, and shuffled the papers in his hands opening his mouth to speak but was interrupted by a loud knock at the door.

"It seems like no one wants me to do my job today" he sighed as he got up and moved towards the door. I started to notice how tall Kyle was as he walked to the door, he seemed to be around 5'10. Kyle no doubt would tower over my stature of 5'6.

There was another loud knock at the door making Kyle groan even louder. I watched him as he took his time walking over to the door despite the urgency coming from the knocks of whoever was on the other side of the door. The more the person knocked the slower Kyle seemed to move and I couldn't help but laugh to myself at his pettiness, he even once stopped to take a drink from off his desk and examine the nutrition facts on it.

Finally after what seemed like forever Kyle made it to the door and swung it open.

"What do you wa-" Kyle started but was cut off by someone roughly shoving him backwards and letting themselves in.

The man was taller than Kyle by a good three inches, he was tan and looked like he went outside often unlike Kyle who was pale and seemed to have never been outside ever in his life. The man's hair was pulled back into a messy bun, curls or hair barely being contained within the rubber band. His cold blue eyes swept over Kyle, the man reminded me a lot of Dr. Alex, they both had an intimidating demeanor and scared the living hell out of me.

Kyle stood rooted to the spot and looked as if he just saw a ghost, his mouth was wide open and although I've only met him twice I could tell this was unusual behavior for him.

"It took you forever to open the goddamn door you prick" he growled shoving Kyle again, causing him to fall into the desk, and Kyle just sat there, quiet, not even trying to fight back and Kyle definitely didn't strike me as someone who would just let people use them as a ragdoll.

I finally found some courage inside of me and stood up, making my presence known.

"Hey sorry to interrupt but could you guys like do this when I'm not here pissing my pants? please and thank you." I said trying to keep my voice from shaking, the man reminded me of the cruel guards who patrolled the hallways and nothing could scare me more than combat, which is ironic seeing as that's my main purpose in life.

The man turned away from Kyle finally realizing that there was another person in the room, I have no idea how he could miss me with my vibrant orange hair and forest green eyes but then again I'm very good at keeping myself hidden when I need to.

The scowl that was once plastered on his face turned into a warm smile, it was as if by a flip of a switch he changed from batshit crazy to happy go lucky.

He moved away from Kyle and made his way towards me. I must have looked extremely confused because he jutted his hand out to me and introduced himself.

"Sorry where are my manners, I'm Christopher but you can call me Chris. I'm a scientist in training and dear Kyle over here is my mentor." he said his smile not dropping for even a second.

hesitantly I shook his hand and winced ever so slightly by the force of his grip.

He leaned in closer to me and whispered into my ear, his hot breath on my neck.

"Me and Kyle were just playing around yeah?"

I nodded my head and he backed away and made his way to the door but not before slipping a piece of paper into Kyle's pocket of his lab coat.

Kyle stood up and straightened his clothes and walked over to the couch where I stood confused as hell. He picked up the files that he left on the coffee table and acted like nothing even happened.

I collapsed back into the seat tuning out whatever nonsense Kyle was talking about me controlling my ability and thought about that Chris dude and why Kyle was acted as if he was just visited by a good friend.

My life just got a lot  more interesting.

So this chapter took me a little bit longer to write than usual because I've been having writer's block lately and I'm also working on a new book which btw I'm really excited for but I doubt I'll post it until I have at least 20 or so chapters in the book.

On top of that I have my end of year tests going on right now so that might be why I have writers block but eh.

Also what's your thoughts on Chris?

Well that's all for this chapter.
