Gerard stood around the corner with Frank and Amy as Linda talked to Donna.

"It's for the rest of the break. They'll be with me the whole time. Frag can come too so you don't have to take care of him."

Donna made an unsure sound.

"I'll be paying for it. It'll open the kids' eyes, build their culture."

"....Okay. But I'll be paying for Gerard and Amy's ticket. I don't want you to go out of your way even more."

"Yes!" Gerard, Frank and Amy whispered and Gerard and Frank hugged each other, letting Amy in on the celebration.

The three had gotten close after Amy had a fall out with her friends and she realized she wasn't entirely doing what she wanted to do. So she came to Frank and Gerard asking for help.

Let's just say it was a weird day.

***
"Gerard..." Amy walked into Gerard's room, where he was reading and Frank was working on decorating a vest.

"Yeah..." Gerard looked up and held his place in the book.

"Can I... Hang out with guys? Like... From now on..."

"Amy, are you asking to be our friends?" Frank assumed.

Amy just nodded and picked at her nail.

Gerard sighed, knowing she had been through a lot and probably felt lonely, and he definitely knew what being lonely felt like. "Sure."

"We're gooo-innggg to Euuurrrr-oope!" They chanted and danced like there was no tomorrow and not caring that they revealed their hiding place.

"You have to bring something back for Mikey. He's going to Florida with us."

"Okay." Gerard promised. Mikey was too young for Donna to let go to the other side of the world so he got to go to Disney World which he hadn't shut up about for a whole week.

"Dude, I'm spending my birthday there!" Frank realized. "Holy crap!"

"That means I'll have to give you part of your gift early." Gerard smiled and went upstairs "Stay there!"

Gerard rushed back down with the framed and wrapped works. "They're kind of for both you and your mom but I felt that it would be okay to give them to you guys now."

Frank smiled and sat down with his mom.

"Linda opens the lilac one, Frank gets the green one and you two can both open the black one."

Gerard sat down in between them and waited.

Frank ripped the paper and gasped when he saw his face the day they took Gerard's parents to the restaurant. He was looking down and smiling with his leather jacket and Joan Jett shirt on, his floppy mohawk almost getting in his eyes.

Linda just stared down at her face which was smiling the biggest smile with her dreads tied up and her sunglasses and black lipstick on all framed in a black Victorian wooden frame like Frank's. "Come here you punk." She squeezed Gerard tight along with Frank who snuck in a kiss on the back of Gerard's neck.

"Frank open the last one." Linda pushed it over.

Inside was the painting of the T-Bird with the three of them in the car. The city lights shone in the back, making the car pop.

"These are great." Frank hugged Gerard again and smiled. "Thank you Gee."

Gerard looked over to see Donald standing behind Donna, giving him a thumbs-up, leaving Gerard to blush and get up to throw the wrapping paper away.

*
"Okay, I've got to go set up for tomorrow's show so you guys can hang out and eat in the cafeteria, walk around and explore, hang out in the garden-I don't care, just have your phones on." Linda explained, totally revealing that she lied to Donna.

"Okay." Frank nodded and checked his phone.

Gerard and Amy watched as Linda left.

"Garden?"

*
"It's so green!" Amy gasped and did a cartwheel, landing and then falling onto her back in the long green grass.

Frank laughed and took a couple pictures, one of Amy lying down and smiling like a fool and the other of Gerard looking out ahead.

Gerard grabbed Frank's hand and led him down the slope into the grass. Frank laid down as Gerard took a photo of him. All three kids saved up for Holga cameras before the trip and were completely in love with them.

"This is nice." Frank grabbed Gerard's hand and laced his fingers through his.

"Yeah." Gerard looked around and then turned to Frank. Just the sight of him made his heart rate rise and his chest grow tight with such strain he thought he would die. The sun was shining, which was rare for an English Saturday afternoon. The light beamed all around them, sometimes creating small little slits of light in between the grass. Gerard loved it when the light was so warm and bright you could see the dust floating through the pockets, like a window into another dimension. The glow reminded him of Frank's golden green-flecked eyes. He could get lost in them for hours, wondering what it was like to see through those wonderful orbs.

"What?" Frank watched Gerard stare at him with his golden hazel eyes moving as if they were searching for something.

"I think I want to kiss you." Gerard muttered and felt the sharpened edge of hot light from Frank's eyes pierce into his.

"That's okay." Frank whispered.

Gerard looked down at the soft pink tulip that bloomed on Frank's face. Then he remembered that when one touches flower petals, they turn brown, and he didn't want to do that to Frank's.

"I don't care."

Gerard realized he said that out loud. So he leaned in, accepting Frank's answer, and felt Frank's nose brush against his, causing him to turn his head a bit. "I've never done this."

"It's okay. You're an artist. You can make anything beautiful. Even flowers that have been dead for a long time."

Gerard looked back up at Frank's eyes, feeling the pain that Frank once felt. He never told him what happened in his past relationship but he knew it didn't end well. "You're already beautiful."

And with that, Gerard pressed his lips against Frank's, feeling the soft muscle move against his. Frank broke it briefly to open his mouth a bit more and slip his tongue a little into Gerard's mouth, smooth and gentle, almost afraid that he was going to hurt him. Frank always felt the responsibility to be careful and protect Gerard. Not only was he his first relationship, but the boy who helped him realize that that empty feeling inside was his sexuality.

Gerard almost forgot to breath when Frank slipped his tongue in. So he breathed out, making a noise he never knew he could make. It was like a content sigh except he wanted more. He was happy where he was but he never wanted it to stop.

Frank moved his head to the side, telling Gerard to wait a minute. His breath was ragged and he couldn't help but smile.

"That was one of the greatest things I've ever experienced."

Gerard blushed and smiled when He continued to kiss Frank down his cheek to his jaw and trailing down his neck. "Happy Birthday." Gerard kissed Frank again and then took out his camera, taking a picture of Frank's flushed face and slightly swollen lips, eyes closed as he enjoyed the sun and the fact that Gerard was basically straddling him.

*
"Happy Birthday Frankie." Linda hugged her son and handed him a bag, filled with rolls of film, smokes, guitar picks, and clothes.

"Thanks mom."

Amy handed Frank a box set of horror movie action figures and some skittles.
"You know my weakness!" Frank laughed and popped a few into his mouth as he sat on the hotel bed.

"Here." Gerard handed a tissue paper wrapped package.

"Holy shit!" Frank said through a slightly full mouth. He held up the Frankenstein shirt and the Misfits shirt. "Thank you!" Frank swallowed and pulled Gerard in, covering their faces with the Frankenstein shirt and kissed him quickly, leaving Gerard laughing.
