she can be very guarded, as you would know if you were close to her she always seems to have her walls up and it can be very difficult for her to truly open up to you. she's very empathetic and forms strong emotional connections and bonds, which can be quite dangerous considering it means that she leaves herself in a vulnerable position. once her trust is earned she is loyal and will never fail to be by your side. if you breach that trust, there is very little chance she will ever let you back in. and if she does you probably will never be trusted the same either. you get one chance. no second chances. because she doesn't want her heart broken just because you're too careless to care for it, to care for her. she is sweet and loving, an absolute sweetheart with a heart of gold. although one certainly should not doubt how fiery she can be. adventurous with a taste for the new and exciting. she's playful and can act rather childish at times. she can get very moody without her morning coffee however. she certainly has a lot of baggage from her past, and can be triggered by certain sounds and situations. she also suffers from night terrors and night terror induced insomnia.

background darling was caught up in a bad place when she was young, her parents financially unstable and constantly taxed by those in rule they had little choice. unable to put food on the table nor clothes on their own backs, they had to make a choice which would change their lives forever. and so, with a simple kiss to her forehead as they accepted the briefcase full of cash in exchange they sold their daughter off. to a scientist. a scientist who experimented on her endlessly, it's a surprise she didn't go entirely insane. traumatised however? of course. she was experimented on by the same scientist who experimented on the maximoff twins, she was unbelievably close to them. the three of them had some unspeakable bond, as you do when you go through some of the most difficult things together. pietro and her were edging into something more than friends, with small things, like holding of hands, cuddling and sweet kisses on the cheeks. the first time they ever kissed was the last, for something had gone majorly wrong- the scientists were furious at this budding young romance and in fear it would compromise their progress they separated them.
darling was rescued by the avengers in a report and recover mission due to having been separated from the maximoff twins, however they were unable to find the maximoffs at the time.
darling was a name that was given to her by pietro, as she was too young at the time of being sold off to remember her real name.
