Forty-Seven

"We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. It takes the same amount of work."

Veron's POV

We were on our way to the movie but I couldn't focus on the road. My eyes kept glancing at her chest. If another guy at the theatre looks at her for too long I'm going to rip their head off!

"What movie are we seeing?" She asked as she gazed out the window. "I've never been in a movie theatre before."

Seriously? This girl has never done anything interesting in her life.

"Well, I'm going to make sure you do everything that you've never done before," I promised her and she smiled.

"I'll start making a list for you then." She said and she actually looked very serious.

I didn't tease her any further. She looked too innocent and sweet and I felt so connected to her.

The parking lot was almost full when we got there and I was very excited. I wanted every guy here to envy me when they see me with this beautiful girl.

We got popcorn and decided to watch 50 First Dates.

"This place is so huge," Keisha whispered once we sat down. "It makes me feel so small. I love this place."

The smile she gave me was priceless. She seemed genuinely excited to be here.

'So you brought the nacre out in public? You're very brave.' I heard Mellisa's voice in my head and I spun around trying to locate her.

Keisha looked up at me with concerned eyes. "Are you OK Veron?" She asked. "We can choose a different movie if you don't want to watch this one...."

"Relax. Everything is OK." I assured her as I brought my hands over her shoulder and pulled her closer to me.

'Don't worry Veron.' I heard Mellisa's voice again. 'I won't hurt you or her. That isn't my mission.'

'And what is your mission?' I asked but she didn't reply. I looked around the theatre but couldn't find her anywhere. How can she be communicating with me through my mind without being close to me?

The lights dimmed and the movie started. Keisha relaxed in her seat and I snuggled her closer to me. I know I've said it before but I will never let anyone hurt my Keisha again.

There were many couples in the movie today probably because it's a movie about love.
Halfway through the movie, Keisha kept fidgeting, playing with the hem of her blouse and taking deep breaths.

I smiled to myself. I felt good that I was making her nervous and possibly sexually frustrated. I found it very cute.

A few minutes later, Keisha peered up at me and whispered. "I really have to pee."

Well of course that's the reason why she was uncomfortable. I need to keep my pride under control.
