"Better is a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city."- Proverbs 16 vs 32

Veron's POV

On the morning of December 9th, I had a weird dream...

I was in the woods searching frantically for someone. "Taniel where are you?" I shouted. "I cannot lose you. I cannot live without you. I love you more than life itself!"

I jumped from my sleep. What the hell was that? Who is Taniel? I better not tell Keisha about this dream. She might think I am cheating on her.

I looked at her sleeping so soundly beside me. She had a smile on her face and her hair was sprawled all over the white pillowcase. Memories of last night flooded my mind and I smiled. I'm so happy that I can please her.

I got out of bed and stretched, deciding not to wake her. I walked over to the dresser and took up my phone so I could take a secret picture of her. She looked so serene and beautiful. I instantly made that picture my screensaver.

I changed into my jogging outfit for my morning run and I almost jumped when I heard her voice. "So you're sneaking out on me Veron?"

I smiled and went to miss her. "Good morning K.P."

She sat up and rubbed her palms over her face. "Veron. We need to talk but promise me you won't get upset." She sounded a little serious. I wish I could just read her mind. I hate suspense.

"Ok. Go ahead." I sat down beside her on the bed.

She sighed and looked into my eyes. "It's about Malik...." She started to say but I stopped her.

"I know Keisha. I've been thinking about the situation for a whole week now. With all Malik has gone through, should we still try to take him down? He still did us all wrong Keisha. I'll have to agree with Vanessa on this matter. We still have to take him down, possibly before he builds his army."

"Veron, can you please listen to me? I'm trying to tell you something." She was adamant about changing my mind.

"Who's ready for breakfast?" Damion pushed the door opened and barged in.

"Will you learn to knock?" I scolded him. "What if we were doing something intimate."

Damion rolled his eyes after me. "Oh please! You're a vampire but she isn't. She has to be tired from all the sex you guys had last night."

Keisha's face turned a bright shade of red. "Yes. I would like some breakfast now." She got out of bed and was bouncing down the stairs within a heartbeat.

I slapped Damion over the head. "Seriously man? You need to keep your mouth shut sometimes.''

"Sorry. It won't happen again. Hurry before the breakfast gets cold." He said then he was gone.

The breakfast was delicious. I think Damion should have studied to be a chef. He had such a natural talent already.

Keisha and I were the last ones to leave the table. I glanced over at her. She was rubbing her belly and had a twisted expression on her face.

"Are you ok babe?" I asked her but she didn't answer. She pushed her chair back and ran to the nearest bathroom.

I rushed after her and held her hair as she emptied the contents of her stomach. She got up, washed out her mouth, and sighed. "I know shouldn't have gone to that seafood restaurant. Every time I remember eating that fish a week ago my stomach gets upset.''

I felt so bad. I had no idea this was how she would have reacted to seafood. "Do you think it has something to do with you being a nacre?" I asked her and she nodded slowly.
