Chapter 3: Girl’s Best friend
“I’m sooo sorry Rose, I promise I’ll make it up to you” Bailey plead.
“Come on don’t be sad” she said as she rubbed her head
“Replace the word sad with mad” I answered as I rolled my eyes.
“You made me wait for you for 1 hour? Couldn’t you just texted me?” I added
“I accidentally got my mom’s phone remember?” She said as she gives me her ticket.
Bailey is actually a ballet dancer, although it doesn’t seem like it. And she is really good I should say. But it seems it’s always the reason why we can’t go out to have fun. I wished she was not
“This scenario looks familiar don’t you think? Like that one time at the party in our neighbourhood someone left me standing for the whole night, also our first movie marathon day someone also stood me up and don’t forget that one time—“
“Okay okay I get it but I’m really sorry Rose. I forgot to tell you.”
“You forgot?” I almost shouted “we have planned this for like 2 weeks Bailey how can you just For-got?”
“Just skip this onetime” I said.
“I really can’t Rose this is as important as my life” She said as she kept glancing to her back.
“Oh really?” I told her silently.
“I’ll do anything you want if that’s what you want. But I really have to go, our leader breathes out fire, almost” She exaggerated
‘Why do I feel sorry at a time like this? I think her coach must be really scary’ I thought as I cross my arms.
“Fine whatever, you owe me big time, I’ve spent almost my whole allowance for this”
I turn my back and started walking “Bye Rose I’m Sorry again” then I heard her ran back off. This day keeps getting worse and worse maybe something great will come, oh how I wish.
I continued my pace while cars pass next to me.
Not alike most cities in movies this town doesn’t have that many swindlers that could trouble people; rascals don’t belong here as they say.
I like it here I mean the serenity is unlike any other. But it’s not the town for me.
‘Beeep, Beeepppp” a car’s horn dominated the silence
I turn my head to see that the man on a Toyota vios car kept pushing his horn to the old lady crossing the street. I didn’t dare move I was afraid of cars, more like the sound of their horn. I just stood there staring at them.
I remembered I was 9 years old when I was rushed to a hospital. It was because I was a victim of a hit and run. But that’s where it end, I can’t remember why I was ran to or to where was I going; I couldn’t even remember if it was just an accident or if I did it on purpose.
They tried contacting my mom, the only family I had, but she never came so I was sent into an orphanage and there I was luckily adopted by a nice lady.
There are so many memories in this town good or bad.
I’m weird because although I can remember most of my childhood memories. There are still those with some hole unpatched. Like my mother’s face. I was thankful though, because even if we cross to each other sometime I wouldn’t recognize her, then the pain I have until now won’t grow.
I felt the sun's heat in my skin and snapped out of my thought
The bus opened its door to let me in. I chose to sit near the window behind. I sat there comfortably and brought out my IPod. I placed my headset where it should be and fell once again into a deep thought.
