The End

They got back to the Cottage, Ezran already prepared provisions for the night. Zym already had his meal on the floor. Callum and Rayla sat down and were quiet still not knowing what to say. Ezran was suspicious but shrugged it off as both having a long day.

They all got ready for bed, and prepared to take Zym to the Court of Dragons the next day. Rayla had a hard time sleeping so she just thought about the day and what to do now. The impossible had become possible and she was not sure what to make of it. Callum was just as surprised and ended up drifting away to the constant thought of how could she have liked me back. Thinking back to their journeys, it makes sense to Callum, the constant attentiveness and care. Rayla eventually falls asleep, no longer able to hold up her eye lids open and as soon as they close, the dark embrace of sleep takes over.

They wake up the next morning, both thinking it would be better if they pretended that what happened never did, at least until this is over. They grabbed what was left of the provisions from the Cupboards and first fed Zym then they ate as well.

Rayla: "Mornin' Ezran, what did you end up doing when you came back yesterday?"

Ezran: "I talked to Zym about how I can relate to the position he is in and to not be afraid of the responsibility that comes with it."

Rayla: "Well that sounds just out of this world exciting."

Ezran: "What did you and Callum end up doing last night?"

Rayla couldn't answer, she started choking up, not wanting to hide what she so desperately wanted. She didn't have to.

Callum quickly interjected "We walked a little bit further, sat down to rest, then made are way back. Nothing to exciting."

Rayla, still silent and now starring in a random direction, made Ezran worried.

Ezran: "Are you all right Rayla?"

Rayla: "Hm, oh yes I am fine, thanks for asking."

Ezran now convinced something is going on intends to push Callum to tell him the truth but right now they have to go get Zym to the Court of Dragons.

They pack up what little they need and start the mile walk to their destination. They realize how short this is compared to the rest of their journey when they are almost there in no time... but of course, it is never that easy. The Regent dragon of the land, Sol Regem, started berating them with solar flares and scorching blast. The group quickly took cover behind a tree not knowing what to do. This didn't work as a single blast from the powerful arch dragon of the sun could clear a whole forest. Not knowing what to do, they took a chance. They ran out and held Zym high hoping this will stop his attacks. They were right, he stopped and kneeled, even as a baby Zym was a king to his species. They quickly made the last steps to the Court of Dragons and displayed Zym to all that were there. They quickly took him and a sky wing elf escorted him to his rightful place. Assuring the three remaining members of the group that they will take care of him from here.

They return back to the cottage, knowing that all they had worked for has been complete, now what. With Callum and Rayla's new bond he decides to stay with her in Xadia, to further his understanding of magic, and his understanding of Rayla. Corvus shows up that day, prepared to take Ezran back home to Katolis. Even with Ezran complaining he sees the very legitimate reason Callum is staying, then he remembers to question him. He took Callum into his room and starts.

Ezran: "So what did you do again when I left yesterday?"

Callum: "We walked a little longer then turned around and went back."

Ezran: "You lier, I thought you sat down yesterday. Rayla was really quiet when I asked her the same thing."

Callum: "I just left that part out, and you can't blame Rayla for not talking!"

Ezran: "Wow, defensive even, this must be big. What, did you guys kiss" Ezran said jokingly.

He was met with silence and he knew he just found out went happened. He was surprised that they didn't show any emotions for each other before this, or at least when he was around. He walked out of the room, Corvus pestering him about leaving.

Walking past Rayla, Ezran remarks "You would be really cute together." Rayla has never blushed more in her life. Ezran exits and that just leaves Rayla and Callum... alone.
