Chapter 10

The cogs in Rose's brain began turning 'hmm I wonder who he is' then it hit her "No way best fairytale ever can I have a token from you to go into my collection? Say it say it please say it?"

"say what" Smirked the witch doctor

"come on you know what I mean"

"I have friends on the other side" he ended with a twisted smile

"urgh that was just creepy does anyone else think so"
"Yeah," said the team but Rose who just screamed with excitement until she heard.
"Attack" yelled Hawk as he stood with his wand out "snow magic" a shot of snow fired from his wand it hit the creatures front leg but had no effect.

"you're going to have to do better than that" taunted Dr.Facilier

"Tower magic" Astoria's wand glowed as vines slid their way up the creature like snakes and pulled it down to the ground. But two faint shadowy figures cut the vines down. "WHAT NO ONE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO CUT THEM" "WHO ARE THEY" Astoria demanded an answer

"I thought I told you I definitely told that imbecile person" he points to Rose with a boney finger.

"HOW DARE YOU TALK TO HER LIKE THAT" Hawk barked at the villain Rose looked at Hawk giving him the most gorgeous smile "thank you" Hawk had his fist clenched his wand his face was blood red with anger he looked at her smile and his face started turning a rosy pink as he calmed down "no Rose thank you"

"Alright you two are we gonna stop him or would you like a moment"
"Oh sorry Astoria" they both apologized
"it's okay now can we get back to stopping the villain"
"yeah, sure snow magic" but the anger he felt inside him manifested with his power to create a blizzard above Dr.Facilier then the others started to attack him with their magic.
"Fury magic"
"Tower magic"
"Frog magic"
And last of all "Pumpkin magic"

WHAT NOOOOO the magic barrier can't hold against all this magic turning to his shadow fix this old friend, with that the shadow covertly swept across the arena mimicking other shadows until it had a clear line of sight.

Rose looked around to see the expression on everyone's face as they attacked Dr.Facilier but noticed a shadow aiming something at Hawk
"HAAAAAWWWWWWK LOOK OUT" she screamed at the top of her voice

(time slows down for next few moments)

Hawk turned around to see Rose running at him what's she doing he thought, Rose collided with Hawk pushing him out the way at the exact moment the shadow fired the arrow it whistled through the air before penetrating Rose's armor her stricken body goes limp and she falls to the ground.

(after the realization of what happened time flows normally)
The others stood there out of shock not being able to move as tears fell down their cheeks.

no no no no no no no this can't be happening was all Hawk could think of as he rushed to her side please please please be okay he kept whispering to himself. He slid on his knees when he was closer to her, giving her a hug "please don't go, Rose, there is still so much for us do all the places I wanted to take you like the crystal forest please I love the clumsy and funny you I love your bubbly and chirpy personality and how you'll always help those in need please don't do this Rose I love you Rose Cinderella" tears filled his eyes as Rose with her last bit of strength managed to whisper the words I love you in Hawks ears and give him one last kiss and gently slipped out of his arms

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Hawk cried as he watched the love of his life slip away and the wonder, curiosity and the sparkle of her eyes fade to jet black ( because of the arrow) the sky began to cry with rain.

Astoria, Joy, and Travis all fell to their knees as tears rushed out their eyes and hearts filled with sorrow.

Hawk stood up with fury and went to attack Dr.Facilier but he had already gone.

Travis put his arm on Hawk's shoulder "come let's go" the team called for their dragons Hawk gently picked up Rose and mounted his dragon carrying Rose. On the way back Hawk quietly shed his tears as they flew above the rain clouds a few of his tears splashed on the dragon's scales "hey Hawk are you okay" but he didn't answer he just kept cradling Rose and flashing back to that last moment. The dragon knew something was up but he didn't say a word they flew back to Cinderella Castle while the others went back to there own family castle.

The dragon gently landed on a stone path outside Cinderella's Castle he slowly get off the dragon wiped his tears and carried Rose to the Castle doors he knocked on the doors and waited in the pouring rain trying not to cry moments later H.M Cinderella opened the door "Hello Hawk" she said cheerfully she saw him holding Rose "Hawk what's wrong" her voice now trembling with fear.
He looks at H.M Cinderella "s..... Sh..... She's" tears started running down his cheeks "I'm sorry" he whispered H.M Cinderella went weak as she fell to her knees and began crying.

Soon all the other teachers were there apart from snow-white as Astoria, Joy and Travis told their grandparents what had happened. "come on let's go inside out of this rain" they all went inside, Hawk still carrying Rose went and laid her in her bed she looked so peaceful he thought as he knelt beside her bed softly sobbing, the others entered the room "Hawk we're here for you if you want to talk"
"thanks, Astoria but I really want to be alone right now"
"Hawk you shouldn't be alone"
"JUST LEAVE ME" he snapped back at Astoria
"fine" she left the room
"don't worry Astoria I'm sure he didn't mean to yell," said Joy consoling her
"he's just really emotional right now," said Travis.
"and we aren't" tears leaked from Astoria's eyes, listen said Joy we're here for you we should let Hawk deal with grief in his own way"
"okay Joy" they hugged and left the castle.

"Rose I love you" Hawk kissed her forehead "I have to go but I'll be back I promise" before leaving he put a necklace around her neck that had a crystal shoe and an apple shaped locket with a picture of them inside, with the words you are the light that shines even on the darkest of days, you are my world my everything and I love you engraved on one of the sides with a heart containing the letters H and R.
