Chapter 21

With Rose in a cage surely no one could stop Vicky and Ruby

"Good morning princess" Hawk walked up to Vicky and Ruby "what you doing hanging out with Vicky" both girls looked at each other
"Erm.."
"We are erm just talking about girl things"
"You are?" questioned Hawk with a puzzled look on his face
"Right so Rose would like to accompany me in going to the enchanted forest, to get some flowers" She just looked at him with big puppy eyes drooling from her mouth, Vicky gave her a hard prod whispering "Say something" Ruse snapped back to reality "I'd love to sugar bunny" Hawk looked at her confused but didn't question her he just thought it was just a side effect from her illness
He took Ruse's hand and the headed off towards the enchanted forest chatting along the way.

When they arrived at the enchanted forest Hawk led Ruse to a tall old tree that was covered in blue leaves and close to a small river, under the branches Hawk had laid out a picnic blanket along with a food basket and some flowers he had picked for Rose "Do you like it, Rose?"
"Hmm well it's okay but it could use a little more of this" while waving Rose's wand she created a gazebo with fairy lights dangling from the sides as well as some golden deck chairs with red cushions, it didn't stop there she was soon creating animals to and flowers.
"Okay Rose that's enough come let's eat" a baffled Hawk took out some plates and two glasses along with various foods and drinks
"Here you go beautiful I made this especially for you my princess" Hawk hands over a freshly baked pie it's your favorite cherry
"yay cherry my favorite" though she did not sound happy about it
"is everything alright my love?"
"Yeah why wouldn't I when i am enjoying the peaceful moment with my perfect honey bunny" she forces herself to take a bit out of the pie
"Look Rose if you don't want to eat it you don't have to"
"Thank god" she quickly puts the plate back down.

They ate the rest of the food with little conversation, Hawk felt that something was off and she Rose wasn't the girl he fell in love with her, something was different but he couldn't quite put his finger on it and kept telling himself it's just the side effects of her getting over the illness.

As the two sat under the tree the sun began to cast it's fiery glow across the sky as it started setting, Ruse snuggled up to Hawk wrapping her arms around his waist as she rested her head on his chest looking up into his eyes she moved closer and closer and closer their lips about to touch
"Stooooooop!" A voice shouted from across the river
Hawk looked to see who was there but all he could see was a figure "I know" he took out his wand "snow magic create an ice bridge" out of nowhere a bridge made from ice allowed the figure to cross the river, as the figure drew nearer and nearer to them Hawk managed to tell who it was.
"Cyrus what, are you doing here?"
"Yeah Cyrus" Ruse angrily repeated
"Hawk you're making a grave mistake"
"What do you mean Cyrus?"
"Look I thought I'd be okay with this but after everything you and Rose have been through I can't let this continue that's not Rose"
"What do you mean she is not Rose"
"She is Ruby disguised as Rose it's part of Vicky's plan to distract you so she can take over the school"
Hawk turns to her "Is it true" his voice began to break
"No, of course, I am the real Rose he just wants to break us up"
"I don't I swear Hawk trust me just tell her something only you and Rose would know"
"okay"
"what this is nonsense you don't actually believe him over me right Hawk"
"I don't know what I believe if you answer this correctly I'm truly sorry for not believing in you and I promise I'll make it up to you"
"okay than then you gonna ask me"
"when we was were aware I gave you a bouquet of flowers what color were they?"
Ruse took a while to think about it she obviously not knowing the color and said the first thing came to her head" They where red".

Hawk fell to his knees in disbelief tears rolled down his cheeks for a few seconds stopping as his disbelief turned to frustration then anger clutching his wand he stood up and looked at Ruby the grip on his wand tightened, his face a dark red you could see his blood boiling, and pointed the wand at Ruby "Where is she! His voices echoed through the forest" What have you done to my Rose!" his started glowing and was about to attack Ruby when Cyrus stepped in front of him" Come on man don't do this Hawk" Cyrus pleaded with him to not attack Ruby "She knows where Rose is"
"but if you do this there is no going back from it"
"I'm fine with that" clearly he wasn't thinking straight
"He is right you  know" a ghostly female voice whispered in the wind, all three of them looked around to see who was there but couldn't find anyone until Hawk looked up the moon was exceedingly closer than usual, they jumped as two dark spots opened up to reveal pink crystal eyes
"who are you?" asked Cyrus as Hawk went back being fixed on Ruby.
In a soft loving voice it replied  " I am Anera goddess of love and I'm here to help you young one
" But why?"
"If you take this route all that you truly love will perish as your soul becomes blackened with corruption you'll leave a trail of death and destruction behind you as you search for the one you love, only for her to not recognize as you lose more and more of your soul"
Hawk didn't move he still had is wand pointed at Ruby.
"Look Hawk you'll lose Rose forever if you do this"
Hawk dropped his wand "thank you Cyrus" he faced Anera and bowed "thank you"
Hawk looked at Cyrus "do you know where Rose would be?"
"I.. I am sorry I don't"
"Allow me to help" A beam of light shot up from the top of Anera down onto Ruby, her eyes went pink and she began to float
"Got it the one called Rose is in a cage at Broomstick Castle"
Hawk thanked Anera again while Cyrus was going to ask how she did that but she had already gone.
Hawk started walking off
"Hang on Hawk I'm coming with you how else will you know the way"
"Alright, Cyrus" they laughed as they both headed to Broomstick castle.
