I couldn't remember the last time I had gone out for dinner. It must've been when my mother was still around. The place that Karma took me was expensive as hell! I must've had the most shocked look on my face when we walked in because the first thing to come out of his mouth was, "Damn, this place isn't that bad if you ask me."

"So where are we sitting?" Karma turned to me and smiled softly. I swallowed and looked around the room, there was an upstairs, and an outside. "How about upstairs...I guess." Karma nodded and walked up to the first waiter he saw, "Excuse me?" The waiter flicked his head around and smiled at the both of us quickly. "Yes, how can I help?" Karma shoved his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small sheet of laminated paper, "Ah, y-yes Mr Akabane! Right this way." The waiter shot his posture up straight and forced his eyes away from the paper. "Let's go." I hesitantly walked up to Karma's side and followed him to our seat.

The waiter brought us upstairs to a window table, he bowed and pulled the seat out for me, then tucked me in to the table. "Ah, thank you..." The waiter bowed once more and excused himself from us. "What was that about..?" I made myself comfortable in the chair and looked over to Karma, staring outside the window. His eyes were... amazing.

"Oh, what did you want to eat?" The red head sat himself up straight and glanced over at me softly. My face tainted pink from staring at him. "Ah, n-nothing too expensive." He raised an eyebrow before picking up the menu. "So, not the 5000 yen meals then?" A small smirk spread across his face and I flinched, annoyed at the boy already. "Y'know, if you want to pay, then surprise me." I sighed softly and watched as Karma brought over the closest waiter. "I'll take this one, and...this one thanks." He glanced at me while pointing at the meals he chose and the waiter nodded quickly. "Yes sir, we'll bring it to you once prepared." I turned my gaze out the window.

I hadn't noticed how busy it was down on the streets. It never really seemed that way when I was down there myself. There were so many people walking up and down the street, they all seemed like they were in a rush for no reason. "Hey, Annabelle?" Karma tapped my hand and I pulled it back towards myself, my heart pounding in my ears. "Y-yes?" I felt my face turn red and I swallowed nervously, Karma saw it as well because he looked concerned. "Are you okay?" I nodded quickly and flashed a smile before looking around, "Ah, what did you order for yourself?" I placed both my hands in my lap and fiddled with my thumbs.

This is not a date. This is not a date. This is not a date.

"Here is your order Mr Akabane." The waiter placed down our meals and drinks calmly and waited for another instruction. "Was there anything else I can get the lovely couple?" The waiter sounded like he was trying to compliment us but it only made us go quiet. "We aren't together sorry." Karma perked up and waved the waiter to leave us be.

In the awkward silence that filled the air now.

"Anyway, let's dig in." Karma lifted his fork in front of himself and waved it towards me. "Ah, y-yeah." I looked down at what was given to me. It wasn't anything too big but it looked amazing. There was a chicken thigh smothered in tomato sauce and pepper, a small salad next to it, and some purple beverage that I was hesitant to try. "Hey, what's this?" Karma picked out a tomato from his salad and pointed it at me. "Gross, don't feed me that crap Karma." I turned away from him and stuck my tongue out. "Tomato's are gross." Karma leaned over the table closer to me and grabbed my cheeks. "C'mon, just a bite?" He squished my cheeks open and shoved the tomato in my mouth. Once I swallowed, I pushed away from him, red faced and flustered. "Since when did I say feed me the damn food?" I gave Karma a stare and he just giggled as he picked up another piece of his salad. "Who said I couldn't?" A smile spread across his face as I continued eating my own food.

After the meal, Karma paid at front desk and we strolled out into the cold night air. It was actually freezing after we stepped out into the streets that were almost empty. "Hey, did you wanna sit there for a moment?" Karma pointed towards a nearby seat and we walked over and sat down. "So, something's been on your mind lately, but I can't seem to figure it out." Karma wasn't looking at me when he spoke, he was looking at the stars. I hadn't a clue what time it was when we got in the building and I certainly didn't know now. "Mind telling me what's up?" Karma placed a hand over his eyes and smiled. I stiffened and felt a nervous chill run through me. "Or do I have to force it out of you?" He turned to me now, his eyes seemed playful but meaning lurked behind them. He was genuinely worried, and I couldn't tell why. "Ah, w-well it's n-not that big of a deal. It's n-nothing really I just-"

Karma placed his hand over my mouth and kept his smile, "Stop talking." He whispered quietly as a gust of wind flew past us. "I-I need to know something." I felt my face burn up every time Karma inched closer to me, his hand still over my lips, which were burning at this point. Was that the first time he had stuttered in front of me? I can't remember the last time that happened. I slowly lifted my hand up to my mouth but Karma stopped me. "Look, just...don't think I'm stupid if I say this alright?" Karma dropped his face into his lap and mumbled something that I didn't hear. "Never mind. I'll think on it more..." He removed his hand from my mouth and placed it over his own while running the other hand through his hair. "A-are you okay?" I leaned closer to Karma and looked under his drooped head, practically laying in his lap. "Yeah! I'm fine, really!" The red head turned away from me and sighed softly.

I watched his actions carefully and noticed how his cheeks were tainted pink. How his eyes seemed soft, and his body seemed stiff. "Ah, s-sure then." I felt another cool breeze and wrapped my arms around my waist. "God, why does it have to be so cold..?" Karma stood up in front of me and took off his jacket, "If you're cold, you should've said so." He moved in close to me and wrapped the jacket around my shoulders, holding the end of my palms and sliding my arms through the sleeves. "W-what? But you'll catch a cold?" I made eye contact with Karma and he looked away. "I'd feel better knowing you're not cold." The jacket was warm, and comfy. He lifted me to my feet and held onto my wrist while walking with me. I tightened my hands into fists and tugged away. "W-what's up with you all of a sudden? You're acting...different." I narrowed my eyes towards Karma but he didn't turn around. "Can I not act how I want? Who are you to tell me what to do?" He continued walking away from me as I stood there.
