Change of Heart

It didn't take long for Karma to pressure me into talking. It was like he knew me too well, but that's what you get when you are best friends with your crush. Although, I wish that he had been crushing on me instead of someone else. It was like, we always headed for the forest, no one else was ever in there when we were. I assumed that most of the class already knew that when Karma and I were in the forest, we were talking.

"So, talk." Karma sat down on the ground, not caring whether he was comfortable or not. From the looks of it, he just wanted me to talk to him. I opened my mouth slowly, but nothing came out. Well when I say nothing, I mean no words came out. What did come out, was a small high pitched squeak. "Words, Annabelle. Maybe try the same lines as last night....but more- ah, reasonable." Karma averted eye contact and brought himself back together. This seemed a lot harder for him then anything else. I took a deep breath in, and sat down in front of him.

"I like you. Karma." It was all I managed to get out. I hadn't looked at him, my eyes were glued to the ground, my neck ached from the bent shape it was in, but I didn't look up at Karma. "I can't hear you."

"I like you dammit! I'm- I'm in love with you." My throat went dry after that last sentence. I couldn't help but cry silently. It wasn't like I was sad, more disappointed. I had tried so hard to help Karma get with Nakamura, and after he was stood up, thanks to me, I sat there and yelled at him instead of supporting him. "Stop crying, Annabelle-" Karma grabbed hold of my wrist and I jerked it away. "I can't help it! I'm an idiot to think that you liked me back!" More tears fell on the ground, my voice started shaking from the fear in my head. Fear that Karma would stop being my friend. "Why are you crying?" I glanced over at the red head, a small smirk was spread across his face and I huffed. "This- This is a lot to take in, I guess." I wiped my eyes with the collar of my shirt and glanced over at Karma. A quiet sorry was all it took for my face to go red.

Suddenly, Karma was hugging me, he held me tight and waited for me to stop crying. "Your heart is racing right now." I hesitantly hugged him back, which was when Karma let go. "Sorry about this." He whispered again and I smiled faintly. Then Karma grabbed hold of my arm and tugged me close to him.

It felt like slow motion, or a dream. Nothing felt real. I didn't care at that moment. He pulled me in and gently pressed his lips to mine. He was warm, he was comforting, and he...tasted like strawberries. "I like you, and I knew you liked me, I never thought you would give me an honest answer, so I tricked you into being jealous. Sorry."

I couldn't think straight. The kiss wa still in my head. "I-I What..?" I stared off into Karma's eyes, was that true? Or did he feel bad for me? "Look, Nakamura...she was helping me. If I explain, it will get confusing so let's just go." Karma stood himself up and lifted me by my arms. I was still so shocked. Still so confused.

We walked back to class together, got our things and I left. Mr Karasuma had been allowing Karma to live with him, which I thought was really sweet of him.

When I woke up the next morning, I left my house early to sit at the park. To get fresh air, or to convince myself that I was dreaming. I closed my eyes slowly and sighed. "This part of life is the best..." I smiled to myself and re-watched Karma kiss me in my mind.

"Wouldn't be so sure about that miss." I flicked my eyes open to find a taller man standing in front of me. "Sorry, but I wouldn't want to cause any unwanted attention, so this is the best way at the moment."

There was a slight jab to my neck.

                                                                      Then a lot of pain before I blacked out.

this chapter is short sorry! I didn't want to end this chapter so short but I also wanted a new chapter for the next climax.
