Promise

When I opened my eyes, it was hard to move around. I was clamped down by chains on the floor, they were heavy, but I could still move. My head stung and the room was spinning. I couldn't tell where I was, but I remembered how I got here.

"Oh good you're awake." A speaker planted in the roof boomed through the room and I lifted my body up hazily. "Annabelle, right? I'm sorry to have to do this but I can't risk losing to him again..." I glanced around the room, it was blindingly white and had nothing but a camera in the corner of the room, and the chains in the middle of the floor that were wrapped around my ankles and wrists. I knew that as long as I didn't answer, they wouldn't be able to do anything to me.

With nothing to do in the blank room, I just counted the seconds that went by. I got to about 2 hours, 15 minutes and 37 seconds before the speaker sounded. "Are you aware of where you are Miss Duncan?" I glanced around, there was no sign of me being anywhere. What a stupid question. "If you don't want to talk to me, that is your choice. However, you eventually need to eat. Which will not be happening if you do not answer my questions." I swallowed and glared at the camera. My kidnapper was trying to feed information out of me, but what for?

"Look, I don't know what you want from me. No, I do not know where I am and would appreciate if you let me go thanks." I sat myself down and stared at the floor. "Of course, in time you will be set free. In the mean time, you will be my prisoner, until he shows." I raised an eyebrow, but didn't say anything.

Another hour went by, and I started to get hungry. I kept quiet, knowing that I would not be fed today, maybe tomorrow but not today. A young lady walked up to wall, I could see her clearly. "What the hell? I can see you!" I stood up and stared through the wall. The once thickly layered, blindingly white wall, was now transparent. "Sorry, just hear to feed you." She slid a small packet of chips through the fricking wall. Then she left in silence.

I refused to eat the food that I was given, it was just potato chips anyway.  While I waited to be set free, I heard the speaker go off again, but there wasn't much I could hear. Just faint mumbling, or maybe yelling.

"Sound the alarm I told you!" I heard my kidnapper shout through the microphone before loud crashing. I was kind of worried about what was going on there but I hoped that I could be set free soon.

A few moments passed, and then a loud bang from the left of me. Smoke filled the room, causing me to start coughing a lot. "H-hello?" I stepped forward but remembered that I was chained to the floor. "Annabelle!" Karma ran through the smoke and embraced me in a tight hug. "Ah..." I felt my face turn red and he hesitantly let go. "S-sorry, I-I'll get you out of here."

Karma spent the next minute breaking the chains that kept me trapped in the room. Although he was brutal and had a lot of strength, the chains weren't breaking. "We'll have to get the octopus." Karma pulled out his phone and pressed a button. "Wait...what?" Korosensei burst through the door in the left over mist and growled under his breath. "Need some help?" He snapped the chains in seconds and Karma pulled me out of the room, leaving Korosensei to the kidnapper.

After we left the building, Karma brought me back to the class, waiting down the road in the park. "Annabelle!" Everyone ran up to me and bombarded me with questions. I didn't know how to answer anything that they asked. Not even who my kidnapper was. "We were all so worried about you Annabelle!" Nakamura hugged me and I laughed nervously.

"Karma couldn't even sit still for a second." Mr Karasuma intruded on the conversation and I glanced over to Karma. "What?! I was fine!" His face burned up to the colour of his hair. It made him look like a strawberry. "Ahaha, it's not that big of a deal..really." Mr Karasuma grabbed Karma by his ear and dragged him over to me. "Ow, ow, ow!"

"Say it." Mr Karasuma tugged harder on Karma's ear and I flinched when tears formed in his eyes. "O-okay!" He pushed away from the teacher and glanced down at the floor, then at me, Karma's face was still quite red. "I-I might have gotten angry...at your dad..." He didn't look at me when he mumbled the words, but I still heard him. "You what?" My face went pale and my head turned dizzy. "Y-you actually went to my house..?"

"Oh la la Karma." Nakamura snickered to herself as Korosensei slithered out of the building alone. "There was no one in there, except some workers, but they were passed out." The class broke out in quiet murmurs. "Yeah, we took care of them." Nagisa spoke up and smiled slightly.

We all started walking back to our classroom quietly, Korosensei went ahead and Mr Karasuma stayed behind to watch over us all. I walked at the back of the group, Karma stayed a few steps behind me. It was kind of quiet between the both of us. "H-hey..." Karma stopped walking and I turned to face him. "I-I was...kind of...worried you know.." He didn't make eye contact with me as the words fell out of his mouth. I watched as he ran his fingers through his red hair, his face tainting pink. "Ah- yeah..." His words dragged off until I couldn't understand what he was saying.

"You guys are falling behind, pick up the pace." Mr Karasuma smirked to himself and kept walking with the rest of the class, leaving Karma and I to catch up on our own. Slowly, we joined the back of the group, walking past the public quietly and not making eye contact.

"I won't let that happen again." Karma whispered to me as he quickened his pace.
