Karma spent almost half an hour talking, mostly about what he'd been doing all day. His schedule consisted of sleeping and eating, taking medicine and sleeping again. Every now and then he would have to walk around the house to get exercise. "So, what did you all do at school? Did you figure out a way to attack the octopus yet?" I swallowed. I had failed at shooting him, but I guess that wasn't his question. I shook my head and sighed.
"Well, I did try to assassinate him but..." Karma tilted his head a little and smiled. When I looked back at him he was staring at me. "W-what?" I leaned away from him and he moved his hand to my cheek, "You have jam on your face, what did you have for lunch?" The redhead swept some jam off my cheek and I felt my face turn pink. "Ah, m-more like breakfast..." Karma giggled at my remark. His laugh was...cute. "You hadn't noticed until now?" I smirked as Karma broke out in laughter, resulting in us both sitting on the sofa laughing.
After about 10 minutes of us talking nonsense, I went quiet. "What's up?" Karma and I had been so comfortable with each other from almost the moment we started talking. He acted so cool all the time but, why had he been attacked last night? "Ah, about...last night..?"
Karma took a deep breath in and exhaled. "Oh, I don't really remember that much..." I watched Karma's face turn slightly pale as he looked away from me. The memory of what happened replayed in my mind, piece by piece I watched in my head as Karma was beaten into. "Well, I kind of saw what happened..." Karma spun his head around and gasped. "You saw! Ah, I mean...well did you?" I turned quiet and nodded. "Oh...don't say anything to the others..." I nodded again, not saying anything as Karma sighed and looked away once more.
This was a completely different side of Karma that I don't think anyone had ever seen before.
The rest of the time we had together was filled with awkward silences and soaked up with tension in the air. I had no idea what to say, I had never felt interested in anyone the way I was interested in Karma so it made it hard for me to start conversations. About an hour passed, and let me tell you, it was a long hour, before Mr Karasuma opened the door.
"Oh, Annabelle you're still here-" I placed my finger up to my lips and pointed next to me. Karma had fallen asleep in the time that we had been ignoring each other. His head sat on his fist which was positioned against the arm of the sofa. I stared at his face, which had his mouth hanging open like a dork. "Oh, I'll put him to bed." Mr Karasuma slowly walked over to Karma, I watched as the red head was lifted up, his head hanging down as the two slowly walked over to the guest room. A few minutes passed before Mr Karasuma walked back out. "Well, it's pretty late, if you like you can stay here the night. I have another guest room." I tapped my phone and stared at the time. "It's only half past eight..." I whispered to myself as I sunk my phone back into my pocket. "Ah, if that's okay with you." Mr Karasuma nodded and walked towards the kitchen silently.
I called my father to let him know where I was staying for the night but no one answered. I left him a message and glanced at the door that lead to the room Karma was staying in. Mr Karasuma must have seen me because he interrupted my thought process. "Could you check on Karma please. I need to do some paper work." I nodded and stood up from where I was sitting.
Silently, I pulled the door towards me and sneaked in the room. Karma was lying in the sheets of the bed, half covered by some sheets and the other half of him was hanging off the bed. He had one leg hanging off the side with his left arm above his head as his mouth gaped open, again, looking like a dork. I rolled my eyes and giggled to myself. "Okay..." I gently lifted Karma's leg and moved back onto the bed, I covered the rest of him up with the sheets and tucked him in.
"What a dork..." I yawned and sat myself on the bottom of the bed. There was a sudden chill that ran down my spine. I couldn't tell why, so I ignored it. Slowly, my eyes flickered closed, over and over, I bobbed my head up and yawned once more, I told myself that I'd get up.
