This is a request from rxgional , thank you so much for the request! It's kinda like 'Overprotective' but I am doing it where Josh is YOUR brother. Hope you enjoy :)

Your POV

"Y/n, do you know where mum is?" Josh, my brother, asks as he walks down the stairs.

I'm lying in the living room on the couch and scrolling mindlessly through Tumblr. "No," I state, not looking up from my laptop. Josh walks down the hall and out of sight but I can tell he stops and turns back around by hearing the pattern of his footsteps.

He peeks out the side of the doorframe, "Can you actually do something? There's a big bbq out the back with lots of people to talk to and you're in here on your laptop" he says shamefully. "You just said the reason why I don't want to go out there" I mumble, sitting up and placing my laptop on the coffee table. "What? That it's outside?" He jokes, walking in the room and standing in front of me. "True, but there's another one." I sigh. "Y/n come on, there aren't that many people out there" Josh says. "Mum and dad invited the whole neighbourhood!" I wasn't exaggerating. They literally invited everyone they knew...And that was practically the whole neighbourhood. "Oh don't be silly. They only invited Brendon's, Marks, Brads, Jenna's and Tyler's families." He said, missing a few. I look down and blush, knowing that Tyler was here.

He is Josh's best friend. But he's just so sweet and kind and funny. Not to mention he's very attractive. I may have developed a small...okay, big crush on Tyler. But I'm scared of saying anything. And I've never been able to talk to Tyler for long otherwise I get nervous yet jittery. I'm scared to tell him I like him because Josh doesn't like it if I have a crush on his friends. It's happened before and I can see why it's so weird for him. But this is Tyler we're talking about. The only boy I've actually liked. It's not just a small high school girl crush. It's massive, definite...love?

I groan, grabbing my phone from the coffee table and stand up, getting ready to walk to my room.

He walks over to me and grasps my arm, pulling me towards the back door. I gasp, retaliating against him. "Y/n. you. Are. Coming. Outside." Josh says, spacing his words as he drags me outside. I try my best to walk the other way, "no I don't wanna go out there!" Josh opens the back  sliding door to where everyone was talking
and chatting on the grass. We both stumble outside and everyone looks at us with wide eyes. They all stop talking. Then they start talking again, ignoring our presence.

I see one pair of eyes that saw everything. They wrinkle up in the corners. It was Tyler. And he had seen that whole awkward situation. I didn't care that anyone else saw it but if he saw it, then my life was literally over.

I watch as he smiles at me which sends shivers down my spine and walks over to us, running his hand through his brown silky hair.

"Hey Josh" Tyler says laughing slightly. I look in the window of the back sliding door to see my reflection and quickly fix my hair to make it look nicer. I glance back at Tyler just as he grins, "y/n" he nods his head towards me and winks. I get butterflies in my stomach.

I was getting nervous.

"You guys okay?" Tyler asks. Josh and I nod. "Y/n didn't want to come outside and socialise so I dragged her out here to talk to someone and look, it worked!" Josh exclaims, gesturing at Tyler. I shrink back behind Josh a bit as my face goes red. "What are you-" Josh starts whispering to me but gets cut off when dad shouts aloud, "steaks are ready!" I take this as a chance to go inside without Josh seeing me.
