This is pt 2 for 'Homecoming' and it is still set in the 1980s-1990s. Also this one is going to be pretty long. Anyway, enjoy!Josh's POV
The night of the Homecoming dance soon rolls around and I'm standing in front of my body-length mirror in my room, fixing my bow on my dark blue tux. I haven't managed to get a date for the dance so I guess I'm going alone. Y/n and Tyler are still going together. I'm sure they'll be happy if I third-wheel with them; something I don't want to do but what I have to do.
My mum walks in my room and leans against the doorframe. "Knock knock," she says softly. I turn around and smile at her. "You look handsome tonight. What lucky girl is going with you to the dance?" She asks, obviously sounding like any other loving mother. I walk over to my bed and fix the cuffs of my suit. "None. I'm going alone" I sigh, looking down at my black leather shoes. "Oh...I thought that you'd be going with...uh y/n?" She asks as if it's a fragile topic. "Tyler's going with her." I say quickly, trying to shut off the conversation. "Anyway, I've got to go." I say, standing up and brushing off my tux.
My mum looks at me sadly. "Well, I hope you have fun. And remember to be back by 11pm, okay?" She says.
"You got it. And If not earlier. I doubt I'll be there for long"

Your POV
The dance was in full action. There were blue balloons and streamers and all the things that made up a school dance. Tyler and I pulled up in the parking lot of the school in his fathers Porsche. It may seem like he is rich and all since he owns a Porsche but he is not. It was actually his grandfathers car when he was younger.
Tyler opens the door for me and I hop out, holding my (fave colour) dress as I stand up. He smiles and holds his arm out for me to link my arm with.
As we walk into the gym, I spot A few of my friends near the punch bowl. "I'm just going to go over here for a while, okay?" I say to Tyler. He grins, "okay. I'll be over here," he gestures to a few of his friends near the stage.
I walk over to y/b/f and eye her dress. "Wow, you look so good in that dress" I smile. She grins, "awe thank you, Y/n. I love yours." She says with a smile. "Thanks Hun. Where's your date?" I ask. She gestures over to where Tyler was standing to one of the boys, Cameron (i just picked a random name. If it's yours then feel free to change it 😂) . "ooohh cute!" I rest my hand on my hip. "Aw thanks but not as cute as you and Josh" she nudges my arm and wriggles her eyebrows. I frown, "what do you mean?" I ask. She takes one step away from me. "I thought you and Josh came to the dance together." She says quietly. I shake my head slowly. "N-No we didn't. I came with Tyler" I state.
Y/b/f smiles awkwardly. "Oh yeah, Tyler! That's who I meant! I-oh! Nancy's over there, gotta go bye bye now" she says really fast and walks away.
I think about what had just happened for a second before looking over towards the stage.
Tyler glances over to me, a smile plasters on his lips. I show a small fake smile. Tyler looks away when a girl with big curly blonde hair goes up to him and starts talking to him. I furrow my eyebrows. What are they talking about? She whispers something in his ear before seeing him smile. I see the girl grasp his hand and lead him out the room.
