((A/N: FINALLY! AN UPDATE! THIS TOOK SO FREAKING LONG TO WRITE AND UPLOAD AND I'M SO SORRY))

Keith wandered around the field aimlessly, waiting for Lance to show up. He'd texted him only a few hours before to ask him if they could meet up, seeing as it was a Saturday. Keith had agreed, and now here he was. Waiting on Lance to appear.

It seemed as if he'd been doing that for a while. Just waiting. Whether it be waiting on Lance at the detention center, waiting on him after a baseball practice to finally stop talking, or waiting on him to finally send him a text to update him on his condition.

Waiting. Lots of it.

Finally, Lance skidded to a stop in the field on his bike, dropping it in the grass and approaching Keith.

"Sorry, were you waiting long? I got caught up in some homework, Mom and Dad were pissed at me all week and I've been waiting on job application stuff to be finalized. It's not going so great."

Keith shook his head. "It's fine. Just felt like a few months of waiting, that's all." Lance rolled his eyes. "So, job applications?"

"Yeah. I applied to a few places for part-time shifts so that I can manage school as well, and I have a job already set in stone for the summer."

Keith smiled. "That's great! Wow... summer jobs already. Man, I can't wait for school to get out."

"Me either. Gosh, I just want to be able to get away from home for a bit, you know? Just take a break from everything." Lance kicked a rock with his foot, sending it crashing through the tall, uncut grass of the field. "And I can't wait to be around horses all summer, too. Honestly, being a camp counselor is insanely fun. 10/10 would recommend."

Keith nodded but quickly stopped and furrowed his brow. "Wait, Lance. You don't work with horses." Keith blinked. "Were you just speaking the author's inner feelings because she still doesn't have all her crap together for her next update due to her life falling apart?"

Lance shrugged and walked back to his bike. "I guess so. Probably why she waited until April Fools to make people think she actually updated." Lance snickered to himself. "Imagine her actually updating. Ha! That's really funny."

Keith laughed and grabbed his car keys from his pocket. "Well, until then, I guess...patience yields focus..?"

"Ew, stop." Lance snickered, sitting on the seat of his bike. "Ice cream?"

"You know it."
