Why didn't they listen to him?! Why don't they ever listen?!
Deceit growled as he sank into his room. He didn't want to move, his vision blurred by the emotions that had suddenly hit him. Why why why?!
Darkness started to surround his shaking body, but he didn't notice.
He's going to regret this. He could've been happy. I was trying to help him. Why didn't he....
He was startled by the ear-splitting scream that erupted from his throat, echoing off the walls. He fell the the floor and scrambled backwards, his back hitting the door. His gloved hands slapped over his mouth, what just happened??
His mind began to replay what had started merely fourty minutes ago, and he regretted all of it. He regretted being there. He regretted ever saying anything at all.
If all they want is honesty, why didn't they just kill me instead of keeping me here to- to be hated like this?!
His breathing faltered, and he wondered why until he felt the tears running down his face.
Oh my god, I'm c-crying?! Nononono-
He tried to desperately wipe them away, but every time he did, they'd be replaced by new ones.
Stop, stop, no, you're fine, you're fine everything's fine. Why are you crying-??!
For the first time in his life, lying hurt more than telling the truth. It felt like he'd been stabbed repeatedly through the chest, piercing straight into his heart.
He'd tried. He'd tried so hard to protect him. Why didn't they listen...?
Deceit ended up hugging himself, choking back his tears as he hopelessly leaned against the door.
The yellow material of his gloves pressed firmly against his mouth to silence the choked sobs. His throat burned from the sheer force he had to maintain in order to keep any sound from being made. It was impossible for him to protect Thomas. No one saw past his assigned trait.
Out of all the sides he thought would end up fighting him, Patton would never come to his mind....and yet, this entire argument started because of him.
He wanted to leave, he wanted to scream, scream some more, he wanted to duck out.....but he knew he couldn't do any of those things. He refused to be like Virgil, he couldn't afford it anyways. But maybe.....maybe if he left, they'd understand....
He stood, taking a shaky deep breath.
If that's what it takes to get them to understand me, I have some work to do....
