This takes place a day after Svs.S
Enjoy some nice angst with a happy ending.

It was early, five in the morning to be exact. Regardless, the snake-skinned man lie awake, staring up at the ceiling. In the past seven hours, he hadn't heard any signs of movement that would suggest someone would be awake. Yes, he was tired. Yes, he wanted to go to sleep. But the nightmares that awaited him were enough to keep him awake. His room had been moved to the light side (much to his dismay) a mere day ago, which also meant he didn't know when the others got up in the morning. He wasn't in the mood for confrontation, much less a fight. So when he felt the burning hunger build up in his stomach, he groaned in annoyance. There was no other option, he had to eat. He'd gone a week without food, he was going to fade if he kept this up.
He wasn't an idiot. He knew Thomas wouldn't be able to function without him, which was why he vowed to never duck out. Virgil had made that mistake, and hurt everyone in the process. Thomas was the only person he cared about, and it wasn't worth causing his host so much trouble just because Deceit couldn't handle the pain of life. He wasn't weak. He could deal with it, unlike Anxiety.
Reluctantly, Deceit sat up and pushed himself off the bed. His feet were unsteady, and he had to balance himself on the wall to keep upright. All he had on was a black t-shirt and sweat pants, but he didn't care. It wasn't like he was planning on seeing anyone.
His hand grasped the doorknob, twisting and pulling it slowly to make as little noise as possible. He slipped into the hallway with one goal in mind: get food.
As he rounded the corner to enter the kitchen, he was almost too tired to recognize the figure sat at the table across the room. Of course, Patton noticed him immediately, but it took a second for the sleepy snake to register what exactly this all meant.
Once he did, he stumbled backward.
No no no, this cannot be happening-
Patton gasped and shot up, rushing over to him, "Oh, Deceit! You're up, I...." his words trailed up when he noticed the sheer terror in the other's eyes, accompanied by tears, "Oh no no no, Dee, it's okay!"
Deceit's hands went up to push Patton away weakly, "No, no, no, NO. I don't need your help. I'm sorry for disturbing you, now can I please leave?" No matter how much he wanted to run, to shove Patton back, to scream....he couldn't. He didn't see the point in doing more damage than he's already done. He lost the battle just a day ago, and he had lost hope in trying to engage with Thomas.
He though for sure he was going to get punished for this.
Instead, Patton just sighed, "Sometimes people need help- even you. It's okay if you do. If you want to leave, feel free to. I'd never want to keep you here if you're uncomfortable...." His soft, warm hand took Deceit's gloved one, "I may not agree with everything you stand for, and....sometimes, you do things that may be hurtful, but I haven't ever asked you why you did those things....So maybe, sometime, we could get to know each other, yeah? Maybe we could understand each other more if weren't always assuming things about each other....."
Deceit stared at him for a second, scanning him for any lies. And oh boy, he thought that was it. Not only was he not lying, but he pulled him forward and embraced him. Legitimately embraced him. The contact sent a wave of heat through his body, overwhelming him and tearing through his mind. Everything was numbed into a blur. God, it was amazing. His breathing stuttered and stopped, tensing up in Patton's arms. The fiery sensation sent shivers up his spine, and it was bordering on painful. He heard a faint whisper of his name, but everything was so overwhelmingly intense that he couldn't focus. Which was why he hadn't yet noticed that he was crying.
Patton yelped when he heard a choked sob, muffled by the fabric of his shirt, come from the side in his arms, "Deceit...?? What....what's wrong, are you okay??"
"Patt....I....I've never...I've never been hugged before....I'm sorry..." Came the reply, quiet yet loud enough for Patton to understand.
At that, the Moral trait's eyes widened. His heart broke as the words left the other's mouth. The snake had seriously never been hugged before...? Did that mean he had never been complimented either? Empathy filled the man's eyes, "Oh, Dee....don't apologize. All you need to do is ask, I'll always be here....Now, take deep breaths. Follow my breathing if you loose track. Relax, we'll be here as long as you'd like, so don't worry...."
They sat there in silence, Patton rubbing comforting circles into Deceit's lower back to ground him while he evens out his breathing and heartbeat.
Once the Moral trait deems it an appropriate time, he picks Deceit up and places him in a chair, "Here, I'll make you some tea, then you can go to bed. It usually helps keep me calm."
"That's not necessary-" Deceit starts, but the other quickly cuts him off.
"Ah ah ah! Of course it is! I was going to get myself a cup anyways, it wouldn't hurt to make you one as well!" He giggled, turning to open the cabinets. He reached in, pulled out two dog-shaped mugs and set them on the counter.
Deceit blinks a few times, then sheepishly looks to the side, "Thank you, then...."
"Oh, it's my pleasure, Dee!" The other replied, smiling as he turned on the Keurig.
After he had successfully managed to brew two cups of tea, the two of them sat in comfortable silence as they drank. Deceit tried not to think about anything in particular, for fear that it might lead to another breakdown- which would be the last thing he needed.
Patton ended up having to carry a very tired Deceit to bed.

Ahhh the end. Platonic, or Romantic? That's for you to decide~...
