~Y/n pov ~

You went home via the floo power and looked at you sister.

"Why do some people hate muggle borns?" You ask confused.

"Because it was a long time ago but more recent then you think, wrong to do anything with a muggle. Now such laws are behind us. Some need to adapt to the new ways." She sighs looking down at you, but her mood changes when she sees you look down in thought. "But hey as long as you stand up for what you want it's all that matters."

You look at you sister and thank her.

"You know my friend, Audrey you met her when you were younger, she's a muggleborn witch... you maybe been too young to remember, but you may remember that mum did all she could to act super prim, she didn't need to though."

You continued talking but you soon were tired and then walking up to your bedroom and flopping down only to be greeted by own of your house elfs... or ex house elf but they enjoy living with you still and became a sort of friend.

"Cindy. Why stay here?" You asked the elf. The whole wizarding world and yet she stays loyal to you and your household. Why?

"Because your school life has only just begun. Life will continue to get harder, but you'll need a solid friend, and I opt to be that person... or elf." She told you fixing your hair without you noticing. You sighed.

"I wish I knew what was awaiting me." You sighed looking at the necklace your father gave you and turned it black.

"Don't we all, but sometimes it's best left a mystery." Cindy said.

"Yeah I guess." You pouted and turned to face her.

"But you can leave, you have powers." You look and she nods.

"Though I have no other family. When you go to Hogwarts, you'll meet all sorts, find a family there." You smiled at her kind words.

"Heh, thank you Cindy. That actually helped calm my mind." You thank her and she hops off you bed.

"My pleasure. Now rest, your sister has something planned tomorrow before she leaves." You nodded and Cindy left you alone to rest. When you woke, you saw your sister by the door.

"Y/n?" She calls her face and voice monotone.

"Kathy?" You ask concerned she notices your tone and lightens up.

"Hey, I want to take you somewhere today, just me and you. Before I leave." You nodded hoping you hadn't done something wrong.

"Okay. Let me change." You say looking at the rows of black dresses and formal attire your family made you wear. You sigh and get ready feeling odd. The questions of the Malfoy family still in your head. Why did people fear them? You shake your head knowing you're not supposed to ask.

You walk out and see your sister in the chimney, you listen and follow close behind. You were in Diagon Alley. But you were in a darker area. After a few blocks you stop in front of a house, painted black. You look at your sister confused.

"Wait and see." She said. You look as the door creaks open and you see the room filled with potions. There's a man, but he's fairly tall, dark brown messy hair, milky skin. He looked filthy, as if he never went outside and hadn't showered in at least two weeks.

You can't make out what your sister asks for, but the man's face looks shocked and then goes dark.

"In the back, maybe... but I'll need some, incentive to check." Your sister slides over some money and you tilt your head to see but are too short. The mans just smiles at the money before he travels to the back and comes back with a clear looking potion it's perfectly clear with a f/c tint around the edges.

Your sister looks at you as she fiddles with the bottle. She walks outside with you and hides it into her long jacket. You give her a concerned look but know better than to ask. You follow her back home knowing your parents were at work today. She was oddly silent. It disturbed you how quite she was.

"Kathy? What's wrong?" You pry. You don't normally but when you care about someone its hard not to.

"Come with me to the second guest room." You nodded at her stern words. The house elfs were all on the lower levels so it was silent and clear up there. You grew more and more concerned.

"Y/n." Kathy ordered her voice stern, as she pushed you into the room and locks the door behind her.

"Y/n I need to give you something before I go away because I don't know how long it will be before I see you again..." She looked on edge and crouched down to your level.

"This is a special elixir, it is something almost impossible to replicate. You must not tell anyone I gave this to you. Okay? Promise me?" Kathy practically begs you, shakily handing you the elixir.

"I promise, no know will know." You swore. You took the bottle.

"What does it do?" You ask looking at the strange enchanting liquid.

"I'll tell you when you use it, I enchanted it to do so when it's opened. Please, never use it unless your life is in direct peril. Always keep it on you."

"Peril? Sis, what's going on?" You ask with a grim look on your face. Kathy notices this and laughs.

"Nothing. But you're are stronger than you know. I worry people that follow... You know who, might seek your potential." You looked at Kathy confused as to what she was not saying, it was as if it was on the tip of her tongue... why was she holding something back?

You ignored your thoughts. Now is not the time.

"Okay. I'll do my best Kathy." You say, little did you know Cindy was there listening in. She hid as Kathy opened the door.

"Good. I'll make brunch." She laughed and smiled.

You kept the bottle with your things for Hogwarts, just in case. You decided to go down stairs for brunch with your parents not here and that message in your head it was best to stay with Kathy for now. Maybe Hogwarts will unlock some secrets.
