~Y/n pov ~

Its been a couple months and your sister had left for y/c. But today was important. Today was the today you went away for Hogwarts. You look at your owl and all your suitcases. Your mom was calling to a girl and she stopped and looked over at you.

"Hello Mrs. L/n." The girl said kindly.

"Hello Hermione. This is my daughter, Y/n. Since you are both going to Hogwarts, I'd hoped you two would meet." Mother explains.

"I was hoping you could show my daughter what to do, for I must be on my way, or else I'll gonna be late for a meeting with the ministry." The girl named Hermione nodded politely and showed me the way inside. Running through a barrier didn't seem smart but I followed and sure enough we were on the other side unharmed.

You looked around and Hermione helped you get loaded onto the carriage before you boarded. You and Hermione were helping a boy named Neville Longbottom when you spotted Ron, you'd seen him before with your parents but never talked much. After Hermione challenged him to Perform a spell, which he failed at causing me to snicker.

Hermione waltzed in and repaired a boy with short brown hair's glasses. When she said that he was harry potter I gasped which grabbed their attention.

"Thee Harry Potter?!" You sat down nest to Hermione and Harry shows you his scar as you look with interest. Everyone but him seems to know who he is.

Hermione makes a few remarks and the walks out. You tell her you'll meet her in a minute.

"Nice to meet you Harry. Nice to see you again Ron." You say shaking Harrys hand.

"Again?" Ron asks looking dumbfounded.

"We met before at ministry meetings. I'm Y/n. Y/n l/n. I hope to see you two around." You gave Ron a sweet smile and Harry smiled knowing he could count on you in the future.

"Nice to formally meet you Y/n." Ron says gingerly. You smile at him and Harry before leaving back to Hermione.

You and Hermione seem to hit it off and you have a wonderful laugh.

"Wait, so you studied over the summer for lessons you aren't sure will be taught?" You laughed at the girls curiosity. She's a smart one.

"Yeah, good to always be prepared." She countered you nodded completely understanding.

"I guess. I only learned a bit from my sister." You state.

"like what?" Hermione asked her eyes filled with curiosity and wonder. Perhaps another challenge seeing if I was better than Ron.

"like this... you might wand to hold a hand to your eyes. Lumos." You say and the tip of your wand gives off a light, one that is kinda warm too.

"Nox." You whisper the light being to bright to bear. In an instant the light disappeared and Hermione looked at you with wide eyes.

"Impressive. I can tell we're gonna be friends." Hermione cheers.

"I'm glad. I don't really know anyone here."

"Well now you've got me." She smirks at you and you laugh. Once the laughter dies down you ask her a question to keep the conversation alive.

"Heh. Hey Hermione what house do you want?" You wonder because, personally your parents were a Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, but you don't know what you want.

"I just want people who don't fool around. People that care about work and priorities and aren't the ignorant ones that hate muggles. Although every house will have the ignorant ones." You nod in understanding.

"I swear I'll never understand why so many people do hate them. It shouldn't matter who is who. We live with the goal of piece and muggle culture is interesting." You see her light up at the fact you agree with her views.

"Has anyone said anything to you?" She asks, you know exactly what she means and explain.

"Yeah, I've been called a blood traitor before, but I wouldn't change my views for people like that." Draco's words rung in your head. "Blood traitor". Funny how a simple sentence or words can get to us.

"Yeah, my father, he's a muggle, so I know what it feels like to be hated on. It's nice to know someone has my back." Hermione says, her confidence looked drained and she was looking down at her hands, lightly fiddling with them. You put your hand over hers and look into her eyes.

"Always." You said not even batting an eye. Justice for all. You saw her confidence return and she smiled. After that you removed your hand.

"Anyways. What house do you want?" She asked trying to shift the mood. You went along wanting her to have a good note.

"Actually, I have no idea. I just want somewhere where the hat believes I'll excel and accomplish my goals." She smiles at your ambition and determination.

"You're gonna do great things here." She smugly grins.

"Hey you will too." You defend. You could tell for a young witch, she was confident. But insecurities would challenge her. You made a mental promise to try your best to eliminate all those insecurities.

"Wanna bet we'll do great things together. As friends." You say making her smile warmly again. She didn't have a lot of friends. Neither did you. You two could be there for each other.

You tell Hermione you are going to the washroom before you show up to Hogwarts. You are walking down the carriages and when you aren't looking you trip and fall on top of someone.

"Who do you think- Y/n?" He growls angerly until he realizes who it is.

"Draco?" You ask. He stands up and offers his hand which you take and look at him.

"Sorry. I wasn't paying attention." You tell him dusting yourself off.

"Oh, well neither was I. It's nice to see you again." He says sharply.

"Yeah. Here I was, panicking about not knowing anyone here and I run into Draco Malfoy." You laugh. Draco looks deep in thought but you ignore it.

"Anyways, you have others to meet and places to be I'll be out of your way Draco." You watch him nod and be on his way.

You too leave and go about your original task. You sit down with Hermione. We're almost there and you can feel everyone's nerves and anticipation.
