~Y/n pov ~

You looked out the window and could see the lights off in the distance. You take a shaky breath.

"I hope I'm ready for this." You say under your breath.

"I don't think even I could study enough for this moment." Hermione said to boy you and herself. You both stepped out and saw a very tall man with unduly hair and beard. You smile and see Harry go towards the man.

"Hiya, Hagrid."

The man winked at Harry as Hermione and I approached them we could see Ron. They seemed to notice us and waved over.

"Well, we need to take boats from here, but once you see the beauty, all those jitters will fade away." Hagrid promised.

Hagrid yelled for everyone to follow him to the boats. He took the lead telling people to be in boats of four, or more if you could fit.

Hermione, Ron, Harry and I took the next one.

"Wow." We all gaped staring at the castle which would be our home for the coming months.

As we walked in and stood near the top of stairs where a lady was waiting for the new arrivals.

You watched and listened as Draco offered Harry friendship away from the "wrong people" but you knew he meant muggle borns and blood traitors. Harry had chosen his loyalty and refused making Draco pissed off clearly. You felt bad for the boy but what could you do right now?

The lady know as Professor McGonagall led you all into the Great hall, you were organised and saw a slightly annoyed Draco a little before you and Harry, whom you were directly behind.

Dumbledore stood and gave a speech but nothing caught your attention. Basic rules.

Hermione was the first called and a look of worry plastered on her face. You watched Hermione went up and smiled at her, it helped her calm down. The hat took a second before announcing "Gryffindor!"

You smiled and watch as Draco was called you could see the nerves in his eyes. The hat barely had to touch him before it shouted out "Slytherin!" Draco has a proud look on his face but you could see he was nervous.

"There isn't a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin." Ron whispered loudly. You elbowed him.

"It's wrong to judge the house because of you know who." You scolded him. Ron nodded muttering Ow and Harry gave a light chuckle.

Ron was called soon after and looked as if we would faint.

Another Gryffindor was called and people erupted with applause.

Harrys name was called and everyone looked around and whispers were heard everywhere, clearly adding to the boys nerves. He was also put in Gryffindor and you gave him a thumbs up.

"Y/n L/n!" The crowd once again had murmurs. Your parents were quite well known. You walked up and felt the hat atop your head.

"Ohh, a brave one, full of ambition, smart and determined too. Quick on her feet and Cunning, wit like I haven't seen in a while. Shall it be Gryffindor or Slytherin?" The hat said aloud. You looked and saw Hermione and Harry motion to you, but your mind was already made up. Gryffindor wasn't for you.

"Ah, made up your mind then. Slytherin!" The hat cheered. You were welcomed with open arms and Draco smirked as he watched you sit.

"Looks like we'll be spending lots of time together Y/n." You smile sweetly.

"So, it does Draco." You smile knowing whatever he said to push your buttons you wouldn't let it get to you. For your family's sake you couldn't. You needed to try not to make enemies here.

You sighed and watched as everyone was accepted you noticed hatful glances at the Slytherin table. You hated they serotypes. Just because Voldemort was one doesn't mean all Slytherins are evil! You know it just took some to start and change peoples minds. There was a large feast, you took part in and adored the food here.

You looked and saw Hermione looking at you with happiness but at the same time, with sadness for the fact you two were separated by houses.

You looked around and a Slytherin girl looked nervous, fiddling with her blonde hair her brown eyes bore into her friend and her friend with dark brown curly hair was growling at Draco for not letting them sit. You moved and tapped the seat beside you.

"These are open." You say, getting Draco to look annoyed and the girls to look thankful.

"What's your girls names?" You ask kindly.

"I'm Allison, but you can call me Alli. This is Bay." The shy blonde girl spoke up.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Y/n L/n." You told them.

"From the rich pureblood family." Allison stated more than asked.

"God, I hate blood titles." You groaned and the girls smiled at this. You quickly realised they must have been half bloods of muggle born and were scared you were gonna tease them. That explains why Draco was being a jerk to them.

"Hey blood traitor, have you seen what I mean yet?" Draco asked you. You hated the name. I know I said no enemies but screw that name. I will not submit to him. You thought to yourself.

"No. In fact Draco, they seem twice as intelligent and fun to talk to as you and your two goons." You spit looking at him, Crabbe and Goyle. He seems stunned that anyone would speak to him like that but is interrupted by Dumbledore making an announcement.

"Please, head to your common rooms. Your stuff will be waiting." He ordered. You were lost in thought about what your sister had said a while ago. So deep in thought you didn't see which way your fellow Slytherins went.

"Where's the Slytherin dorm?" You ask an older boy with short dark blonde hair. He appears to be a Hufflepuff based on his choice in colours.

"The dungeon." He says with a light smile.

"Really?" You groan feeling like this school has it out for Slytherins. The boy  kindly laughs at your first day struggles.

"Hey, the names Cedric. Cedric Diggory." You shake the boys hand he was kind. Maybe we could be friends.

"Y/n L/n. I should be on my way and let you be on yours. Hope to see you around." You say respectfully before running off.
