First Person; Joshua Dun

Tyler, Billie and I all sit together at lunch. Billie sitting across from Tyler, who is sitting beside me. We're all talking, mainly about our next move in my lie to Debby.

"Oh my God, Josh," Billie laughs. "This is why I will never be in a relationship." When Tyler asks what she means, she elaborates. "Imagine committing yourself to one person. You love, you know - cherish that person. But it all ends, and for what? I could never commit myself to anyone. Not one person." She shrugs, and then looks at me. "That's why I was so hurt when you started dating Debby, cause it meant you had to commit. Which meant I don't get as much time. What does leave me thinking? You know? Like I genuinely thought you were gonna forget about me."

"You know I could never forget about you," I respond and she smiles at me.

"But you guys are different. Whether this relationship is fake or not, Tyler is chill. Debby wasn't, and never will be." Billie says, laughing. This causes Tyler to laugh, whcih causes me to laugh. "Speaking of Debby, she's looking our way - do something cute!" Billie says, quietly but also loudly.

In a heartbeart, Tyler rests his head on my shoulder.

Billie smiles at us. "This is actually a really cute sight." She pulls up her phone, and quickly snaps a photo. When she shows us, we're both smiling. Tyler's cheeks are red, and I'm smiling.

"And she's jealous," Billie confirms. But we sit like this for a while anyways. We laugh, before Tyler shocks me by kissing my cheek. My cheeks turn bright pink, as I look at him. His cheeks are light shade of pink too.

I sit in class, thinking about Tyler. The little peck on the cheek was new, and considering it was our first day being "together," I didn't expect that from him - especially cause he's super shy.

But I invited him over for the night tonight, and he said yes. My mom doesn't really mind when I have people over, so it wasn't that big of a deal. But I do know that my brother would be freaking him out, like all hell. Jordan isn't exactly the best with first impressions.

The bell for the end of the day rings, and Billie instantly runs into my class with a bloody lip. I give her a very confused look, before walking up to her. "What happened?" I ask, knowing she was outside my class because she tends to do that, but why is her lip bloody?

"Cat fight with Deborah," she raises her eyebrows at me, and when we walk out of the class - Debby has an already forming bruise above her jaw. I snicker, and Billie smiles at me.

"So I invited Tyler to sleepiver tonight." I said to Billie, and she looks at me and winks.

"Have fun, little newly found gay biy. But not too much fun," and just like that - Billie runs off.
