Chapter 14 - An Old Friend

Author's POV

"You really have some sort of sixth sense" Hak said in slight awe when he saw Jae Ha with a small injury and Yona huddled right next to him, hiding in a small alley. "What happened?" Yoon asked. You approached Jae Ha along with Yoon and looked at the wound on his arm. Yoon shot you a look, warning you not to do anything. "We'll need your energy in case we meet Hiyou again." You nod your head, knowing that he's right. "We were attacked by a few men on our way here." Luckily, Yona wasn't hurt, but she was freezing cold. You offered her your coat, but Shin Ah beat you to it by offering her his. Suddenly, there was a scream outside. Jae Ha was the first to bolt out the door, helping a lady who was being attacked by two men, pinning both of them on the ground whilst Zeno helped her stand up. Jae Ha questioned the incident, and the girl's reply shocked everybody. Hiyou was specifically looking for Yona asking men to wander around nearby cities to capture a red-haired girl. You took a look around the streets nearby, and didn't notice any sign of other suspicious men. However, your eyes widened at the sight of Lily, accompanied by an oddly familiar guy. Your mind turned back to the scene of the fight with the fire army and you're sure it was the 'important guy' Hak and Yona knew. Your eyes met his and you felt nervousness creeping in. The man turned away for a brief second, seemingly called by someone, and you took that as an advantage to quickly hid behind the buildings, returning back to the group. You can only hope that he doesn't recognize you. Who even is this guy? He seems to have or had a deep connection between Yona and Hak. And why was he with Lily?

Walking back towards the group, you tried to act normal and followed inside to have a discussion with the group. "I'm not shocked. I was the one who angered him." Yona said. "It seems like Sensui has a deeper connection with Hiyou than Shinsen." Jae Ha said. "So he's injuring others while looking for me.." Yona muttered. "It's not just you alone. I think he's trying to get me too. If he can find you, then he thinks that he can connect it back to me. I mean, I killed a lot of his men." You explained. You and Yona shared a look as the atmosphere became silenced. "Yona, Saya-chan, you can't. You both are injured." Yoon let out a complaint, so does the others, knowing that the two of you wouldn't sit still. "Okay, firstly, I know you guys are worried. I want to thank you all for taking care of me. But this 'babying' method is just not working out for me. Hiyou is looking for us, I'm not just going to let other people get hurt." "I agree with what Saya-chan said. I know that I'm still inexperienced, but I want to lend you my strength." Yona said firmly. The boys were deep in thought. "Well, Hiyou is looking for us, and we're looking for him.." Ki Ja said. "So let's go all out. Let's show him the red-haired woman is here."

The next 2 days, you and the rest of the group has been moving on finding Hiyou's people, injuring them to send Hiyou a message. "White snake, don't you think your hand looks too suspicious?" Hak questioned. "Why would they care? Hurting the princess, Saya-chan and treating girls like trash. I'll carve his heart out." You stifled a laugh when you saw his face. You were in charge of guarding the area in case more men or civilians come. You felt like your eyes were about to pop out of your head when you saw the same men the other day, this time not with Lily, but with an unfamiliar black-haired guy. "Oi! Cockroach!" you turned around to see Hak walking towards you. 'This is the worst. What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?' you asked yourself, chanting the question over and over again. You pulled a dagger that you hid next to your katana and threw it, letting it pass an inch right next to his ear and sticking itself to a tree behind him. Everyone froze at the scene, turning to you and Hak. Hak too, was taken by surprise at your actions. "You..." There was an irk mark on Hak's forehead and you knew you really did it this time. "I thought that since we didn't finish our fight last time... w-we should do it now." You could see the group's face, painted with confusion and concern as Hak unwrapped the cloth on his weapon. You too, unsheathed your katana, knowing that you can't back out since you're the one who started it in the first place.
