Class finishes and I walk out.I'm not staying in the library today since I can do all the work home.It's already getting pretty dark so I pick up my phone to call Elijah.
"Hey bro" I say as the line connects
"What's up?" He says in a husky voice.
"Can you pick me up from school?It's getting dark and I dont feel like walking alone." I say innocently.
"We can walk you home." I hear an unfamiliar voice.
"Hol up." I say on the phone.
I turn around to see Jahseh,Stokeley and Craig.Fuck no.
"K I hear you got some company.Go with em." He says as he hangs up the phone.
"Looks like I don't have a choice." I say nervously as I turn around and start walking.
All three of them catch up with me rather quickly.I keep my eyes straight not trying to look at them.
"Why you tryna escape?" I hear that same unfamiliar voice.
I turn around to where the sound is coming from,to see that it was Stokeley's.I make a 'i dont give a fuck' face as I stay silent.
"Be for real now" Jahseh says "You scared of us?Or are you just actin up."
That just made me a whole lot angrier "I aint scared of nobody.I just like having my friends accompany me."
"So what happend with them?I mean I don't see no friends." Craig says out of spite.
"Thet had less periods,and my brother usually picks me up today." I spill.
"You have a brother?" Jahseh stops.
"Yea who the fuck do you think I was talking to to pick me up?" I say also confused.
"Your boyfriend?I dont know." He makes funny hand movements.
"Nah you wrong." I say looking down.
"So you're single?" Stokeley says as Jahseh hits him and start walking next to me.
"Yeah are you?" Jahseh asks.
"Um...Yes..?" I say confused again.
"Why you actin like you confused?It's just a basic question...Not too hard to answer." Craig points out.
"Sorry guys,I rather go alone." I say uncomfortably.
"Did we make you uncomfortable?I mean I can tell them to turn around and go back home,I can walk you back if you wanna." Jahses assures me.
