Melissa McCall has had a long day and evening since the boy with a murdered family collapsed near her feet this morning. She has been keeping up on speaking with the police, as with making sure the boy and her other patients were settling alright.

Later that evening she decided she was going to take a small break and she started heading to the front of the building to inform her colleagues. However, she was stopped when she saw her son and his best friend at the front office holding tightly to a limping young boy. The teen girl she had recently adopted was leaning against the counter speaking with the receptionist and holding a wad of red-stained tissues and a half-melted ice pack. Melissa could plainly see that the young boy had a purple ankle and the girl had a large bump across the back of her head.

"Uh..." Scott noticed her first. "Hi, mom."

Taryn Brooks turned from the receptionist and gave a weak grin to her guardian. Melissa felt a weight hit her as she realized something had happened. She quickly told for a male nurse to get a wheelchair for the young boy, while she neared the bunch. The nurse handed off the chair to Melissa and the woman helped Liam into the seating.

"What happened?"

Scott quickly explained about the accident at lacrosse while he watched his mother make sure Liam was settled into the wheelchair. After he was done, she turned to Taryn, who was now resting against Stiles. She grimaced as the kind aging woman turned her motherly rage onto her. She was forced to explain about her light-headedness and how she had momentarily passed out in the nurse's office—Liam added roughly that she had hit her head hard against the ground.

Melissa noticed how hesitant she was at speaking around the two boys and wondered if the symptoms ranged even farther than what she was telling her now. She sighed and motioned her girl forward. Though Taryn was quick to back up and wave her hands in denial of being checked into the hospital. Stiles kept a safe hold on her shoulders to stop her from tumbling back down.

"A fall on your head could leave you with some serious damage, Taryn," Melissa explained to the girl, "I'm not doing my job as a guardian or mother if I don't make sure you're safe."

Of course, Taryn understood that, but she didn't want another wad of bills to be added with the others. However, she knew she didn't have much say, especially as the ache in her head continued to grow the longer she stayed standing, so instead of arguing much, she followed Melissa.

"Don't worry, Liam," Melissa said, pushing Liam forward. "We'll take good care of you."

Stiles remained at her side as they followed Melissa. Scott stayed behind to help his mother gather the paperwork for Taryn. He felt guilty enough for what had happened to Liam that he needed a moment to breathe by himself, so he was happy Stiles helped Taryn to her room.

After going up the elevator, Liam was rolled into room 215, and Taryn was put into the room across from him. Melissa didn't give Taryn any time to wiggle her way out of the hospital, as she had quickly left, mumbling about needing to finish signing Taryn into the room.

Both Stiles and Taryn watched as the door shut behind her. Stiles quickly turned to the girl he cared a lot for and gave her a serious expression. "Will you finally tell me what happened?"

Taryn ran a hand through her tangled hair, she winced as she felt the tenderness of the bump. "I don't know, Stiles, I just passed out. Maybe it was because of what happened yesterday?"

She knew what had happened had nothing to do with yesterday, she didn't like seeing her boyfriend constantly worried about her. So she believed it was better if he thought it was a one time experience. She didn't like lying, but after what had happened with the Nogitsune, she didn't want to be another burden for them. They were all so kind to care for her and give her a home, so another trouble would only be another thing for them to do for her.
