Chapter Two
April 15th, 1877
Brown Family Manor
London, Britain"Scarlett! Scarlett! Get in here fast! They will be here soon!"
"Calm down. Its not the bloody king coming to see you." Scarlett muttered, rolling her eyes at her Cousin Sister's new antics.
"I'm sorry. Did you say something? Mama, did she say something?" Her cousin asked.
One glare from her Aunt made her back straight and getting directly to work for her cousin, which should be done by her Lady's Maid but no, it has to be her.
But did she say anything wrong? Absolutely not, it's just her friends, not the bloody king.
It seemed like somethings would never change and today will be the same as always for Scarlett --visitation of her cousin's friends, serving for her friends, listening to recent gossips from her friends and last, getting taunted by her friends.
Scarlett never knew why they waste precious time gossiping, when they could do more appropriate things like learning new knowledge, exploring new places, even if it was by books only and every other thing Scarlett never would be able to do. At every free time she had, she would go to the upstair's library, sitting alone by the window with a novel on her lap and gaze outside to the free valley beyond the large woods and big blue ocean.
Scarlett always used to think about the places beyond her reach, nesting behind that ocean.
Will she ever see what nest upon the valley behind the ocean? Will she ever get the chance to explore it with her very own eyes?
Well, now was not the time to think about it. Scarlett left that wondering part in her mind and came back to reality. She started doing her chores for her cousin as she was told to.
After an hour of poking hairs, tightening corset and doing little touches on her cousins face, Scarlett finally sighed.
"Are there anything else to be done?"
"No, you can go but be sure to be in the front hall when my beloved friends arrive. Now get out of my sight!"
Scarlett could not have walked away faster after hearing her cousins words. Finally peace! Now time to visit my second sanctuary in this place, the library.
Scarlett quickly made her way to the library before her aunt could get her and make her do other chores which also should be done by maids but no, it had to be her.

The sound of young ladies chattering and giggling woke her up from the peaceful nap.
Scarlett raised her head and straightened her back which had been strained due to falling asleep while reading her favourite novel, sitting by the window of the large unused library.
The vision from the window over looking the garden, the forest and finally the enormous ocean which was the only beast keeping her from the home she once knew. Well considering the family living in the manor a beast too, they also kept her away.
Scarlett was young when she landed her feet on the London's crowded harbour. She barely remembered her life back home but she knew anything was better than living in this manor. She knew that her mama and papa never wanted a life like this for her. They would have kept her like a princess.
America
That was what her home was called. Denver more specifically but when her parents died on that unfaithful night, London became her home and she never liked it ever since.
