Chapter Three

April 16th, 1877
Brown Family Manor
London, Britain.

"It's about time!"

"Marie! Hush! But Scarlett my child, I agree with her."

Last night after her crying session was over, she made her way to Mrs. Gold and once again cried her heart out to the old lady. She told Mrs. Gold about her aunts plan with her own plan too and Mrs. Gold could not be more happier with her decision.

So finally Scarlett packed up all her belongings but only the things that is important to her and easy to carry along with all the money she saved. But she did not just make all her plans at once, she did make Marie confirm her aunts plan.

Don't ask how she did it but it is quite easy for her.

"Marie, how did you confirm it again?" Scarlett could not help herself from asking.

Marie gave her a sad smile and said, "I found the particular moment to catch those mother-daughter gossiping by hiding in Lady Julie's room and Lady Julie said Mr.Rutherwind will be here day after tomorrow to collect the goods."

Everyone shuddered at the last word.

"I always thought that my aunt is cruel but I never imagined her to be this cruel enough that she could just sell me away like a mere animal." Scarlett looked up to Mrs. Gold's face and sniffed.

Even thinking about it made her on the edge of a breakdown but no, she would not show any weakness. Now was the time to be courageous. She had to travel all alone for months, on a ship to get in Denver safely. So courage was what she needed now.

Hilston, the footman booked her a ticket and took care of everything that she would need while traveling by a ship. Hilston said she would have a cabin for herself so she could rest her heart a bit.

She did not think she could bare sharing a room with anyone in fear of getting caught. All the preparations were done and now, she just had to leave. And she needed to leave now before her aunt came back home.

"I need to leave now!"

"Yes yes, before anyone else comes. Hilston will make sure you are on that ship at any cost and you have the address of my sisters place, right? I did not get the time to send her news of your arrival but I am sure she will be delighted to have you there." Mrs.Gold said and she never failed to take care of her.

How she will miss her! How much she will miss all of them!

"Yes, I have everything with me. I can never repay you for all the help. I will miss all of you so much!"

Amd that began her another crying session. It was hard saying goodbye but she did and made sure to say it wholeheartedly and genuinely.

The noise of the labourers, the sound of the waves and the horn of a ship made her escape plan much more real. The massive ship of hard black and red iron could not go unnoticed by anyone.

All over the docks, people were scattered with many different size of luggage along with lots of horses and carriages. It could not get any real than this and Scarlett could not wait any longer to escape this place.

"Lady Scarlett? Are you okay?"

Scarlett looked behind her and spotted Hilston with her two luggage in his hands.

She answered. "I am alright Hilston. It is a bit crowded here."

Hilston looked over at the docks then the massive ship. "Then let me get you settled in, my lady. This way!"
