Levi x Reader/Kusaki ||| Chosen

Chapter 7

It's been a week and 5 days since we've been training with Kenny. I gotta say we have been progressing with every training we've been learning with Kenny.

Everyday I got stronger. The lessons were a pain in the ass but I got threw it. Levi did with silence. Everyday was the same. Wake up, lesson with maneuver, running and weight lifts, trivia question and if the lessons went by fast we would have to clean around the house.

Levi didn't have reaction to anything we did all day but when we clean... I swear I'd see him smirk a little.

Today... Was my birthday. Levi and a Kenny did not know any of it, of course. Ever since I was 7 I never celebrated it because it was not a big deal.

Now, for some reason I felt.... Hopeless. I never knew I would feel something like this agains but until today. We just finished everything and it was the afternoon. The sun was setting a little.

"Kusaki..... I have something for you.... It's from me and Levi" he says going to the kitchen. He goes into the cabin and I see him bring his arms out into the cabin bringing out something. I can see a peak of a white box.

A white box? Kenny turns his body with the box. It wasn't big or small. It was a good size. I felt something warm and butterflies go all over my body.

Why? Why was I feeling like this? Kenny goes forward to me and pulls the box up. I looked at what was in the box like if I was a puppy waiting for a bone. Once he opened it my eyes started glowing.

My whole body with excitement into what I was looking at. The tasty, puffy, soft vanilla cake, white swirling frosting on top, with the greatest finishing.... A tasty, fresh, red strawberry.

I loved the smell. When he opened the box, a whole breeze of the cakes scent came to my nose. The sweet smell made my stomach start to growl.

I looked at Levi who's face was straight but he was looking at the cake the same way I was. I saw Kenny bring out candles. He brought out 23 candles "23 candles?" I ask looking up at him.

I saw as he plucked them on the birthday cake. He got a lighter and lit them "I know that your birthday is today and Levi's is coming up.... But today I want to celebrate both of y'all birthday. I'm grateful to train you brats, I know you guys are not my children but if you were. I would be proud of both of you" he says softly.

The cake looked beautiful lit. It was like seeing the sun for the first time. How the fire flickered just made me spark "Happy birthday Levi and Kusaki, now hurry up and blow it. I want to eat the cake already" he looked over the cake "Remember to make a wish" he said with a smile.

I looked at Levi who was beside me. I smiled at him and he looked at me with a smirk and soft eyes that looked like he was about to cry.

I thought about my wish. It came to me quickly. I closed my eyes and we both turned and blew out the candles and just like that the fire from the stick were gone. Smoke coming out every one of them. A smell of smoke came to me.

Just like that we blew out the candle. We ate the cake. We went to sleep.

I thought that'd be my greatest birthday yet.

My greatest wish. As we were laying down looking at the sun. I turned my head to Levi "What was your wish?" I ask quietly.

"I'm not telling you, idiot" he hissed

"Ok, I'll tell you mine, if you tell me yours" I said facing his cheek.

He sighed and nodded "Fine, I wished to get out of underground city" he said. I smiled "See that wasn't so hard"

"Ok... Stop stalling tell me yours" he said commandingly.

"I wished to be the greatest soldier and to fight all titans!" I said with a victory bump "Wow..... Dumbest wish I ever heard" Levi smirked

I looked at him and punched his arm "Oh shut up, cleaning boy"

"Better clean, then dirty" he sighed turning his body. I smiled "I guess.... Good night"

"Good night"

A year. A year of hard work. A year of learning how to do everything. How to kill titans, how to fix and take apart 3DMs, to move with them, to make clean and quick nips, to hold a sword, everything a person should know.

This day. I never knew would happen. Levi was 12. He was going to sign up today. Now he couldn't. Not know. I know he wouldn't go.

Today Kenny left. I knew since Kenny left, Levi wouldn't want anything to do with Scout Regiment. We saw the note on the table. We paused and looked down with silence.

Dear Levi and Kusaki,

You two are the best student any one could wish for. Best kids I have ever been able to teach. I wish I can call y'all my children. I knew you guys would be the best since I found y'all in the alley. I know I'm strict and I apologize. I just want you to promise that I will hear your names as being the best soldiers in the scouts.

Levi looked down with a angry aura around him. His hair covering his eyes. He tightened his fist until it gave an peak of white. He punched the table "Damn you, Kenny" he gritted under his breath.

I tried reaching up to him to comfort him but he brought his head up to me. He baled up the paper in his hands and threw it "I knew that asshole was a lie! I knew he was a big lie! All this time!" He shouted. He grabbed my hand and yanked me "Let's go we are not living in this dirty house"

I follow him with my hand in his hand. We walk out the house into the city. The underground city we will now have to live in. I looked around thinking how nothing at all was different about the place. It was the same gloomy place that I knew. Levi stopped and let go of my hand.

I slowly dropped my hand to my waist "Levi... Don't be mad, maybe he had something important to deal with" I softly say. Levi's back facing me and stayed quiet for a little bit "We were fools to stay with him" he said.

After that. Years have passed. Wanting to be in Scouts became a long lost child dream. It was not our goal.

Our goal to bond and become stronger.....
