Hey, it's been a while. I don't really have new excuses, to be honest. I've been busy with my studies and unmotivated to write; I don't know if I'm not motivated to write this story or just having a writer's block. I've been working on this for quite a while now, trying to gather ideas and find inspiration.

Anyways, enjoy the chapter. Hopefully, I don't take another year to update another chapter.

I avoided Lillian for the rest of the day. Every time I see her walk down the hallway, I walk the other way or hide in the closet classroom I find. The same thing with Dana, I couldn't look him in the eyes nether, in addition to being mad at him for stealing my first kiss just because he felt like it. On the bright side, I didn't have to face her today since it was a public holiday. I had work today though, so that means I couldn't stay in bed all day watching TV.

"Jade, can you take the trash out, please?" my boss, Mrs. Davis asked.

"Sure thing" I said as I tucked in the notebook and pen in my apron then took out the trash.

The place was busier than usual, so I took the time taking out the trash and to catch a breath from the madness. It was only 8 a.m., the place was so packed. I leaned against the wall with my eyes closed, taking deep breaths. The fact that I was running on 2 hours of sleep and had to start working at 5:30 a.m., made this more tiring.

I snapped out of my zoning out phase and looked over my phone when it buzzed in my apron. I took out the phone and looked to the messages on the screen lock since I didn't want to reply to any.

8:56 p.m. // Lillian: 'Where did you disappear to yesterday? Didn't see you at all'

10:33 p.m. // Lillian: 'Helloooo, where are you at, stranger?'

10:34 p.m. // Lillian: 'Are you working tomorrow? We want to go somewhere nice to have breakfast?'

1:43 a.m. // Lillian: 'Is everything okay?'

6:43 a.m. // Lillian: 'I don't know what I did for you to ignore me like this'

8:14 a.m. // Michel: 'Would you please answer Lillian's messages, she is driving me crazy over here with her nonstop questions'

I unlocked my phone and texted my mum 'My phone will be off, call the diner if you need anything', then turned my phone off for the rest of the day.

I tucked my phone back into my apron and walked into the diner. I went straight to my section, picking up trays and cleaned the tables. When I came back out of the kitchen, my heart stopped when I saw Lillian and Michel sitting in my section. Lillian was wearing the brightest smile that I have ever seen, a smile that made my heart ache more than it already is by guilt.

I tried to put on my best smile as I walked to them, but then stopped when I saw Dana walking in. When his eyes met mine, I looked away and moved to the table as I refused to look him in the eyes.

"Hello, stranger" Lillian smiled "You do remember you own a phone right?"

"Ugh... I lost my phone" I lied.

Michel raised an eyebrow in amusement.

I didn't look over to Dana as he slipped into the booth next to Lillian, I just handed the menu then took out my tiny order notebook.

"Jade" Dana said.

"Dana" I said then turned to Lillian and Michel "What can I get you guys?"

Dana clears his throat as he looked over to Lillian "Actually, I didn't ask you here for the food"
