Part 20: Past

"Could you tell me about them please or what you've heard?"

And that's how Yoongi and Jimin both began talking about their intertwined paths.

"I'll... I'll explain to you what I know to the best of my ability but i'll be honest, I was only young and don't remember much... It might be easier for me to explain to you more about werewolves first though..."

"Please do, I appreciate anything hyung and I can tell this is making you nervous so thank you."

Jimin held onto Yoongi's hands tighter and looked into the others eyes, keeping eye contact for a moment before focusing on the window again.

"Wolves and werewolves are similar in ways, we travel in packs and have our own community base we protect. I come from the Gloss territory, and now lead it, and your parents came from the Parkim clan... a very very powerful pack. Existing in the top three with the Min and... them..."

Yoongi's eye darkened at the mention of 'them' and Jimin noticed but choose not to mention it.

Instead he innocently asked "My parents were in a pack? Why?" getting a softer look from Yoongi contrasting the darker one from moments before.

Yoongi ran his hand through Jimin's hair and the other leaned in to it as Yoongi softly said "Because they were werewolves, just like me-"

He poked Jimin's chest.

"And you."

Jimin's eyes widened in surprise but he said nothing because he had too many questions and felt like Yoongi would explain eventually without him interrupting more.

A skill he'd learned after many years of being scolded for interruptions when the answers were to come and what wasn't answered was answered after with questions.

Patience was a virtue.

"Werewolves connect their families much like royalty do, through marriage, and your father married the omega from a much weaker pack. Your mother. Our marriage is slightly different though and it all gets rather complicated... So... i'll explain to you how Jin hyung did to me."

He drew two stick figures in the condensation on the window and began to explain.

"Their are basically two types of marriages and relationships to wolves. The ones arranged and the ones chosen by fate. Arranged marriages are typically done to gain strength uniting packs where as the ones by fate are pure and natural... I guess... your father and your mother married because of fate."

He drew a heart around the two stick figures then carried on,

"Now for us wolves this fate has a different word. It's called imprinting. It where a bond happens almost instantly and it ties the two together for life probably to become mates. It's a life long bond... and commitment. Your mother and father imprinted on each other so married and created proof of their bond... You."

Underneath the two figures he drew a smaller one and circled it.

"An example of an arranged marriage can be... my family I guess... My father had power and had a wife before my mother, his bonded mate, but she died before they could pass on their legacy with a child. But every pack needs a heir in case something happens to the leader otherwise everything falls apart. The pack was viewed as weaker because of my fathers wives death so he was arranged in a marriage to solidify their strengths as packs."

He drew three stick figures, crossing out the one on the left but putting a heart around it and the middle one, then circling the one in the middle and on the right.
