I then got up and opened my bag. I was starting to feel hungry and I felt dirty, especially after that dream that I just had. I can't believe that I dreamed of having sex, just with a German. Why? Just why does it have to be him? Maybe I'm just being cruel, but it's not good if he was a German. What if he tricks us into leaving this world for another? Where do we even go where this world isn't safe? What then? God, I really need to shower. Too bad there isn't a stable shower anywhere. Besides, I don't trust showers that aren't safe to use. What if there were bugs or worse, blood. Maybe I'm over exaggerated. I head downstairs and see that Marie and Dempsey just left. I sighed as I couldn't sit around, not with the German here.
"You seemed troubled." A voice that want the German's. Thank god. I turned around to face Takeo. He wasn't a fool. I'll give him that. He could tell something wasn't right. I sighed as I confessed.
"I'm just not feeling right. It's just..."
"It's Richtofen. Isn't it?" He finishes.
"Yes." I simply replied.
"I understand how you feel. Believe me. We didn't trust him the moment he appeared for over a year. I didn't trust him, because I felt as if he wasn't going to lead us to peace, but I moved pass from that distrust. I promise you, Richtofen isn't what you think he is. He is much different than the other Richtofens." Takeo explains. It was good that he understood. I sighed again, calmly this time.
"I know. I need time though." I spoke.
"Yes. At least thank him. You wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for him. He know what he is doing. Believe me, I've seen him do extraordinary things that are beyond my knowledge." He told me. I nodded.
"Of course. You're right. Thank you. For saving us. You did the heavy work as well." I mummer. He simply nods and walks away. I felt the weight of hatred lift off of my shoulders, but I still wasn't ready to face up to Edward. Dempsey and Marie came back. They looked like they couldn't breath and they looked sweaty.
"Marie, Dempsey, what happened?" I asked. Beginning to feel alarm.
"There was...a hoard....it's not far....we have to go." Marie panted. Fuck.
"Pack your shit. We're getting out of here." Dempsey shouted. Everyone was downstairs at this point wondering what was happening.
"Shit. Hurry everyone." Jefferson shouts. I ran back upstairs to grab my bag. Into my room, grabbing my bag and out I went like a flash. We went to the back of the kitchen and made a run for it. I heard screaming coming from a mile away. There were a couple of zombies that we hit and run. There was a truck that was a lie to fit all of us. I went to the back and so did Marie, Takeo, Nikolai, Drostan, and Edward. I began to feel the hatred rising but I didn't let that distract me. Dempsey and Jefferson were in the front starting the truck. The hoard were coming and the truck drove away. We drove for about 5 minutes and there was silence between the gang. I felt tired, filthy, and most importantly, hungry. I haven't even eaten since I got up. This day couldn't get any worse.
"Nikolai forgot his vodka." Nikolai spoke sadly.
"Do you have more of them in your bag?"
"No there just piss." He replied. I blink, but didn't feel too amused.
"Oh." Takeo said nothing more.
"Unless you're willing to drink some, which is good."
"Nikolai that's disgusting. Why would anyone drink your urine." Edward cringed.
"What. Trying to be more polite. Aye. I'm just kidding." Nikolai throws four bottles out the truck. Drostan sighs.
"How long Dempsey?" Drostan asks.
"I don't know." Dempsey replies.
"Well, didn't you say we can travel to another dimension." Marie pointed out.
"Yes, but we can't not yet anyway. There is something else we must do?" Edward replied.
"And what's that?" I asked, as I crossed my arms.
"I'm all ears." Jefferson spoke.
"There is an artifact that we must acquire that is located on the beach. According to the kronorium, if we get it in time, we'll have a chance to get it and bring it back to Maxis. He said it's...important to him." Edward explains.
"What's this artifact?" Marie asks.
"Specifically, it's the book of ancient histories. It's a special book that Maxis has search for a long time and in his dimension, which is ours, the book went missing and in this dimension, the book never existed. So surely, it is hiding in a remote cave. I supposed something took it and planted it in there." Edward explains.
"Do you remember what your friend told you about the book?" Jefferson asked.
"Maxie told me little information about it. I don't know why but I supposed he didn't want to tell me after we get the book. All I remember was he said is that it was texts of the post revelations of us in the past. And by acquiring the book, he use it to uncover secrets of the crusaders, which those legendary crusaders were us.
"Crusaders?" Marie was alarmed.
"You fought battles?" Drostan asked in shocked.
"They weren't the battles from any other crusader battles. This was a very malicious war and many died from an evil known as the apophicance, the aether. Dangerous monsters from the deepest of space that were responsible for element 115 and the zombie outbreak. Those crusaders, us, were the ones who fought the aether and we victoriously won the battle and everyone praised us." Edward foretelling his side of the story. Marie was astonished.
"Wow. So that's what happened? So all of those zombies we fought..."
"Those zombies somehow were transported to our universe and into your world and I believe that in time, this world cannot be saved by the four of you, which is why, we have come here in time, not just to find the book, but you four as well." Edward explained.
"That makes sense." Marie spoke.
"So then, where do we go?" I asked, I didn't sound too pleasant. Edward laughs.
"Why with us. Specifically, Monty has created us our perfect universe for us to live in for the time being." Edward replies.
"Monty?" Jefferson spoke the name.
"Another person that created the perfect world for our souls to live on." Edward informs.
"So now there's two?" Marie asks, looking confused.
"Yes. Since we don't belong in his perfect world, he decided to create another one for us to inhabit, but why we can't be there is another story." Edward spoke. Then, the truck stops.
"Perfect timing, cause we made it to the beach. Now we just have to find that cave the book tells." Dempsey spoke as he got out of the truck as so did we. We looked out and see a beach with rocks and a cliff of to the right side.
"Alright, So were do we start?" Marie asks.
"Surely the beach since it's obvious the cave is somewhere." I muttered. Dempsey clears his throat and explains the plan of action.
"Well were splitting into two pairs, since we don't have time to look all in one sitting. I'll go with Marie and search at the bases. Takeo and Nikolai you guys search on the cliff to get a better view. Richtofen and Olivia, you guys get a head start and head out north. And Drostan and Jefferson, you guys stay with Takeo and Nik." Of course I have to pair up with a German. I groaned mentally, knowing this day was going to be as bad as I predicted.
"Remember this is like treasure hunt so if you find the cave, Jefferson has some radios." Dempsey spoke. We each have our radios. The feeling creeped into me...no this feeling...my heart pounded, elevating, this feeling was different. It was of love. No, no, no, stop it! Why Olivia? Stop it!
"Are you alright?" Richtofen asked.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me." I spoke, not as harsh as I wanted it to be. Something was possessing me.
"Alright you all know what to do. Come on Marie." Dempsey spoke and Marie followed him from behind. God, help me please.
