After Dark

Josh's POV

" Josh!!" I heard Ann's voice. I got up and rubbed my eyes. I don't know when I slept.

" Got her sketchbooks." Bryan said.

" Good." I said.

" Were you sleeping?" Ann asked me. I nodded.

" Yes. Don't know when my eyes were closed." I said.

" It's ok. I ordered for Pizza. I am so hungry." Marina said.

" I am so hungry as well." Bryan said.

" Alright. Let's check the sketchbook first." I said and they nodded. We walked out of there and sat on the living room.

We kept searching if there were any sketches of that time. But most of the sketches was about her daily life nothing else.

" What is this?" Bryan asked and we turned to see the sketch.

" What happened?" Ann asked.

" See this." He said.

" What's wrong?" I asked.

" This sketch is something very awkward." He said. I took the sketchbook from him and checked.

It was like someone was killing a girl. That guy had a knife in his hand and he was stabbing the girl. What is this?!!

" Why will she make sketches like this?" Bryan asked.

" Can it be an imagination?" Ann asked.

" A little girl of 12 years old will not think about abnormal things like this until she is psycho." I said.

" This sketch must have a mystery in it." I said and took a picture of the sketch.

Then turned the page over. The next sketch was about the fire incident. The whole house set in fire and a little girl was sitting on ground outside of the house with her injured self. The fear on her facial expression was saying she has seen death from very close. And no wonder she did. I closed my eyes. Where was I? What was I doing with that Lima all the time when the girl I have ever loved was her?!! But no. It's not time to think about it. I have to find out the mystery.

" It's about the fire incident." Ann said and I nodded.

" Yes." I said to her.

I turned the page over and found a broken violin there which caught fire. I sighed. I was right. It was her who used to play violin every evening.

" What is about this violin?" Bryan asked.

" RD loves to play violin when she is very sad. She is very good at it. But when she is not upset you will not be able to make her play it anyway. She will only play it when she is very upset." Ann said.

" Did you hear her playing violin?" Marina asked.

" Yes, several times. She has got weird kind of mood swings. She used to get upset and she wouldn't come out of the room for days. Then she used to play violin at night that too sitting on the window. I took her to different psychiatrist several times but they couldn't figure out what her problem was. Then we changed that apartment and came here. She started to improve. She started to get mood swings less and she started to change. Even if she was upset she would talk to me. She started to fight with her problems. You know the hardest fight ever is the one you have to fight against yourself. But I am happy that she won her fight against herself. Still if she gets upset she will play violin. In fact, when I packed her stuffs I put the violin inside it. That day when she was upset with Josh she played it late night. She thought I was sleeping. But I heard her playing it." Ann said.
