Two months later...

"Here", Nathan said, "Coffee with extra milk."

"Thanks", I replied and took the one he offered me.

"I thought we could skip our little game today..."

I looked at him in surprise.

"What are you going to do, Mister?", I wanted to know curiously as we walked along the corridor.

"It's called being a gentleman", he explained smirkingly.

"Really?", I countered and couldn't hide a smile, "And what's the real reason?"

"Still very good at observing", he mumbled jokingly, "There's a very important person and I need the best doctors to care for him. Can I count on you?"

I nodded.

"Sure! Who's it?"

He hesitated for a second.

"Don't tell anyone", he whispered then, "Nobody except you, me and a few nurses are allowed to know he's actually here."

He was mysterious. And indeed, he scared me a little.

"Okay", I still agreed, "Who's the mysterious person nobody's allowed to know?"

Once more, he hesitated before answering.

"It's a French secretary who came here to introduce further steps against the Middle East conflict. But lately, he's suffering from angina pectoris..."

"A heart attack", I concluded still whispering.

He nodded slightly.

"Where is he?", I wanted to know.

"On his was to the OR", Nathan explained shortly, "We can't let him die here! Can I still count on you?"

"You can", I agreed as we quickened our pace.

"Tell me", Danny wanted to know curiously, "Who was the mysterious guy?"

I giggled and kissed him softly.

"I won't tell you", I mumbled and ate some of his fries, "It's a secret."

"That was Stark's idea, right?", he asked and seemed to be annoyed.

"He's my boss, Danny", I replied and tried to stay calm, "He needed my help and I..."

"Of course he needed your help, Kate. If I had to choose who to spend half of the day with I'd choose you as well..."

Wait! Did he really just say that!?

"Wow, thanks for your support", I retorted sarcastically and crossed my arms, "So, you mean he's only working with me because of my looks?"

He suddenly seemed to realize what he has just said.

"That's not what I wanted to say", he tried to explain.

I leaned back and looked at him intensely.

"Really, Kate, I'm thankful he found Elsa when she got lost but I don't like you hanging out with him so much...", he explained in a serious tone.

"Oh, you're jealous", I concluded smirkingly.

"Of course I am! I'm not saying that I hate him but I hate you hanging out with him every day and moreover I hate the way he looks at you!", he countered.
