Gerard was lazily hanging around his apartment, catching up on some of the latest English Premier League football games when he heard a knock on the door. He wasn’t expecting anyone so it’s with a bit of a surprise that he opened the door to find a pretty, golden brown haired girl, that did look familiar, although he couldn't quite put his finger on where he knew her from.
“Hello” she said shyly “I’m sorry to show up like this, out of the blue. I hope I’m not disturbing you or anything.”
“No no, don’t worry” he reassured her and invited her inside.
After he closed the door, she said “I don’t know if you remember me, I’m Andrea Benítez, we were introduced last month at Pedro’s birthday party”
That’s when Gerard tilted “Of course!” he exclaimed “I remember you and your friend… what was her name again…?”
“It’s Raquel” she smiled, relieved that he remembered her “And she’s my older sister actually”
“Right” he smiled “So can I offer you anything Andrea?” he asked.
“Don’t bother, but thank you” she said shaking her head.
“So Andrea, to what do I owe the pleasure?” he grinned, inviting her to sit down.
“Erm… I’m warning you, it might sound very weird, especially since we don’t know each other that well…” she began hesitantly.
“Shoot” he shrugged with an inviting smile.
“Okay, so a little back story first” she said “As you might remember, my sister and I are friends of Pedro’s…”
“Yeah I remember” he nodded.
“We’ve both known him even before his football career shot up, but the thing is, I think there’s something going on between him and Raquel”
“Woah” Gerard said with wide eyes “Now you’ve got my attention”
Andrea chuckled “I knew I came to the right person” she carried on “As I said, I’m pretty sure they both have unnamed feelings for each other but are too stupid to realize it.”
“You know what” Gerard said “Now that I think about it, I did sense some flirting between them at Pedro’s party”
“Exactly” she nodded “It’s been going on for a really long time, and at this point, even a blind person could see the connection they have and the fact that there’s way more than friendship between them. But the problem is that neither of them seems to want to make the first step…”
“So someone just has to do it for them” Gerard shrugged and Andrea’s eyes lit up.
“Exactly!” she exclaimed “Which brings me to the reason why I’m here” she smiled shrewdly “I heard from a reliable source that you were quite the Cupid”
Gerard grinned from ear to ear “Are you kidding? It’s like the thing I’m best at, after playing football!”
“Alright then” Andrea said excitedly “Would you like to join me in the quest to bring Pedro and Raquel together?”
“Andrea” Gerard shot her a shrewd smile “That would be my pleasure… literally” he said and they both chuckled.
“We sound so evil” she laughed shaking her head.
“Oooooh no, we’re bringing two people together here” he stated “It’s actually a good deed we’re doing”
“Of course it is” she said “So anyway, i think we need a plan first”
