A little backstory first: Mario Götze kicked off his career as a professional football player at Borussia Dortmund where he spent two seasons before transferring to Bayern Munich in 2013. August 2014 would mark the start of Mario's second season at Bayern.
July 17th 2014
Auri furrowed her eyebrows as she heard the doorbell ring. She glanced at the watch, wrapped around her wrist, wondering who could be coming to her home at this time of the day.
To be completely honest, it wasn't the time that was startling her that much, it was the fact that someone was at her door in the first place. She wasn't expecting anyone, but even that was an understatement. The only human contact she'd been having lately was restrained to the usual greeting from her neighbor every morning, when she went out to check her mailbox. He'd wave at her cheerfully calling out her name and wishing her a good morning, she'd mumble something back before returning quickly into her flat.
Yes, she had been pretty anti-social lately but she had her motives, and if they made sense to her, then it was enough of a reason to practically live like a hermit, as bad as it sounded. Her activities were usually narrowed to burying herself into her work, but in the middle of July, people would expect Auri to be enjoying her summer break, but no, there she was, missing her job desperately.
At least work kept her mind off of him.
But now that her schedule was freed up, she found herself being temped more and more into drifting off to thought of him.
She had tried to fight it so many times in the past few months, but it hadn't been an easy task lately, especially when his face happened to be all over her TV screen.
Especially when his team happened to have won the World Cup, not earlier than four days ago.
Especially since he was the one who scored the freaking winning goal that won the team that World Cup.
But today someone was knocking at her door. The quicker she'd answer, the quicker that person would leave, she though. Because surely her visitor must be mistaken with the address or something. There is no way anyone would come visit her, is there?
The only person who would actually care enough to be at her front door was Marco. But last time she checked, Marco was in Berlin, celebrating with his teammates, because yeah, even if he didn't exactly play, in some way he was on the winning team too.
Lusine got up and headed toward the front door. But before opening it, she took a quick glance at the little peephole like she usually did, to prepare herself mentally for whoever she was going to have to face.
She froze at the sight of the person standing at her doorstep. No, no, no, that can't be right, she thought as she peered a second time through the hole. About a dozen different emotions hit her like a train and her eyes widened in shock.
First, she wanted to burst in bitter laughter because there was just no freaking way that Mario Götze was actually at her doorstep while she had just been thinking about him. Surely she must be seeing things, she blinked a few times, but nope, Mario was still there, in the flesh.
Second, she was confused and it could clearly be read in the expression on her face. He was supposed to be in Berlin for all she knew, but clearly, he wasn't... since he was right there, behind her door.
