Katie didn't expect such a quick reaction from the traitor. She didn't at all suspect they would reveal themselves. But, she thought again, Aries knew who it was, and he'd most likely say something, and Katie supposed it would be less hurtful to everyone if the person just revealed themselves. As she turned around, she saw the look of betrayal in Matthew's eyes, she knew he couldn't have done it anyway. He wasn't even born then. She then saw the look of regret slashed across Matin's face. "I did it," He spoke again, more confidently. Katie shuddered with shock as Aries started shouting at him. "SEE! GOOD FOR NOTHING MORTALS! ALL YOU HAVE EERY CAUSED ANYONE IS PAIN AND CONFUSION!" It was painfully clear that he was speaking from experience.
Matin's face changed swiftly, from one of pure regret and remorse to one of anger and defence. He started to yell as well. "WELL, SHE WAS HAPPIER WITH US ANYWAY! SHE HAD A BETTER LIFE THAN GROWING UP WITH ALL THIS!" Maybe Time could sense the anger submerging the house, or maybe it's the fact that she cared for both of her siblings so deeply, that she knew when they were hurt or angry, well, it had to be one of the two, because the next thing Katie could see what Time dashing in the door. "Oh, wonderful, another freak," Martin spoke venomously. Her brother's anger subsided, as it always did around her, "No," Aries spoke. "You're the freak. What kind of person steals someone else's child? And no, she would have been much happier here. Learning from our world takes months, and sometimes years, to remember certain things. Our clocks tick differently, our worlds are not interlocked mortal. You can't restore the balance that you have broken. But you can give us our sister back." Katie was shocked at the emotion he managed to hide, he displayed no anger, no sadness. He just spoke. Just then, Martin made Katie pick the ultimate chose. He had, most likely, ruined this moment for her. "Go on then," He jeered. "Let Katie pick. Katie the rules go as follows: If you pick your biological family, you may never ever see Matthew again. If you chose Matthew, you can never see your biological family ever again," He challenged, rather smugly. Although Katie loved Matthew dearly, she wasn't going to stay with someone as horrid as Matin. She decided to spend this time asking a question before she made her final choice. "So, who was the hooded figure?" Aries looked sympathetic. "It was the mortal," He said. "Martin?" Katie asked. Aries just nodded.
