Choosing between her siblings, mortality or immortality, one world or another - Katie knew what she would choose. After all, Katie didn't want to watch her mortal family age and die in front of her. So she chose Time and Aries. "I'll stay with, my biological family. Time and Aries, and their parents." She replied to Martin's challenge. His face dropped, Matthew began to weep. Jane put her head in her hands, as Time decided to correct Katie, "Our parents," Aries' eyes lit up "Time! Go get mother and father. They don't know yet - well father doesn't. Go Time, now!" Time ran out the door at again an inhuman speed. Seconds later, Time ran back through the back door by her mother's sleeve. Despite Katie being scared to meet her real father, because of how he had looked before, but to her relieved surprise, he didn't look a thing like before. "The reason he looks different is that you thought you were a mortal. Once you found out you weren't his appearance changed. I and my brother don't have different appearances, but you do. That's why you weren't allowed out to the other children's homes. They can see you for what you really are. And so you may be wondering, why you were able to talk to one person, who didn't live with you, that's because she's your cousin. People within your family, whether it is biological or not, back then you believed that they were, meaning their bloodline was your bloodline." Time stated intellectually. She could obviously sense what her siblings were upset about. Her biological father was dressed in a suit and had black hair, slicked back. He dressed very professionally, but Katie took the effort to notice that her mortal family were scared. Clearly, they could see him for what he was.

He sighed and looked over at Katie, "Oh my, Astrid! You're back, away from the filthy mortals who took you," He spoke happily. "Astrid?" Katie inquired curiously. "What, you mean they renamed you?" Anger suddenly filled his voice. "Time, what's her mortal name?" Time walked over "It's Katie dad." Anger seeped into his words, "Mortals. Get out of this place, find your own way back. I curse you to a tragedy of life, a broken life. All expect the child that is yours, for he had no part in this." Katie remained thankful that he didn't curse Matthew, brother or not, she still cared very much for him. He sighed in horror, obviously scared of the creature that had cursed his family in front of him. Katie offered him a hug, which he returned. He sighed and whispered "Thank you, Katie. For absolutely everything. I'll miss you, sis." His words brought tears to her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Matthew, I will always care about you. I hope you grow up happily. I hope you get a good job and lead a happy life with loads of friends. I'll miss you so much." Katie passed him a piece of paper, or what looked like one, It was a photograph, of her. Matthew smiled sadly, "Thanks, Katie." Katie smiled sadly back. "I already have a few of you, Hope to see you sometime little brother," She smiled. "Bye big sister." He called. Time obviously could sense the tension between the two, she couldn't explain why but she felt bad for the boy. "Ummm... Matthew is it?" Matthew gazed up with hopeful eyes. "Y-yes?" He stammered. "You could stay - I mean if you want.  You would either have to stay forever. Or leave forever. And, Oh! We could make a potion to make you one of us! One who is immortal, another who will never die." Matthew looked on in awe, but Katie interrupted. "Matthew, are you sure about this? You might not like it here," Katie was sure he'd back down, as he often did when talking to his sister. But once again, this was a different world, and as usual, Katie was wrong yet again. "NO! I want to go with you Katie, Pleaseee?" He smiled with puppy dog eyes. Sympathy leaked into Katie's veins. Despite not liking mortals, Aries and their parents decided not to interrupt and had managed to mute Katie's mortal parents, using a charm. Time held up her hand as a potion fluttered into it, the potion contained blue, shiny liquid. It had wings, held onto the glass like magic. Time passed it to Matthew, "Drink," She smiled. As he did, his body became paler, Katie noticed that maybe that was the features of an immortal, as everyone there was very pale indeed, their skin was like porcelain. Matthew beamed and Time smiled. She grabbed his sleeve and pulled him over to the side Katie was on. The charm of the mortals was taken off. They began to screech. "NO! MATTHEW! GIVE US BACK OUR CHILD, YOU HEARTLESS FREAKS!" Martin yelled. Jane appeared to have accepted it now. She was crying but tried to control herself. "Martin, I can grow old knowing my children are safe and happy and most importantly, they're together." She grabbed Martin's arm and walked through the portal Aries and father had opened. Once they left, Katie smiled. I may not be what she had always dreamed of but it was what she now wanted, her family. Aries smiled and leant down "So, Katie, do you want to stick with that name? Or change back to Astrid?" She smiled and said "Astrid has a ring to it, and I don't want a connection with the 'mortals' as you say," Aries laughed at her impression of him. Time asked Matthew the same question, "Hmmm..." He pondered. "Phoenix!" Time giggled and smiled, "Okay Phoenix and Astrid!" "Welcome to Loxicarro," The family joint hands and smiled, "Welcome Home,"
