Once Upon A Pan

Chapter 5

Peter POV

"This way" I say to Hannah.

I think she's a nice person but there's something different about her and I can't put my finger on it. I can normal figure people out really quickly but Hannah is not an open book.

"So what was your mums name?" I ask trying to make conversation but I then realise that this isn't the best subject.

She stops right where she is and looks at the ground then looks at me and says "Anna. Very similar to mine". "And your dads?" I ask smiling. She looks at me wide eyed like she doesn't want to answer the question "Peter" she says looking at me sympathetically.

I smile and say "well I'm not violent so you can trust me". She looks suspicious now and says "can I really".

I am so shocked I can't move my mouth drops open and she says "is that the camp?". I can't find any words so I just nod give her a glare and walk on. I'm angry now and she looks sad. "Hey, stop a moment I didn't hurt your feelings did I? It's just I barely know you it's not that your not trustworthy, it's just I don't know where your taking me and who you are" she says.

I turn around and to my surprise she's smiling. I say "I just thought you would have trusted me by now, I mean I don't want to hurt you and I trust you more than I've ever trusted any girl before". "I know you don't want to hurt me and I trust you a bit but you haven't got my full trust yet. I just want to get to know you better is that okay?" She says smiling.

I can't help but smile look at her and say "that sounds okay to me".

We then enter the camp where the lost boys are sitting.

"My friends we have a visitor" I say. They look up in shock and they all hold up their weapons. Hannah looks startled and grabs my hand hoping I would protect her.

"It's okay she's safe, she's a friend, she will be staying with us" I say smiling. The lost boys slowly lower their weapons.

"What's your name?" James asks warily.

"Hannah".

"Well Hannah welcome to our camp" James says handing Hannah a piece of bread. She takes it gently and thanks James. I then pull her away to show her my house.

"This is where I live and where you will live" I say showing her round the house.

"Peter it's beautiful" she says smiling.

"Thank you look we've got to go hunting now, you don't have to come but I have to lead the group" I say.

"I'll come" Hannah says. She smiles picks up her bow and arrows and says "what are we waiting for". I laugh and Hannah, me and five other lost boys head out to find our dinner.
I love to hunt its so much fun and there are lots of animals around here like pigs and chicken. There are mostly chicken though which is fine cause I absolutely love them.
We stroll across Neverland when I see five chickens running around.
"There" I say pointing to the chickens.
Hannah looks a bit scared now so I say "hey you okay?".
"I can't kill an animal I'm sorry" she says and turns around to walk back to camp.
"Don't worry I'll come back with you" I say smiling.
"Are you sure?" She asks. She has such a sweet smile I can't hurt her I like the fact that I'm her protector.
"Of course" I say.
"Boys I'm going back with Hannah have fun and get some good dinner" I say. They look sad but they just nod and start to creep up on the chickens.
I'm sad because I love hunting but I need to take her back.
We walk back in silence.
Then we hear something.
Hannah grabs her bow and arrow and turns around searching the jungle around her and I look to but I can't see anything. Then something hits me on the head I look up and see people in the trees.
The crown.
I look at Hannah and she's seen them too and she looks worried. I grab her and say "it'll be fine". She pushes herself into me as the crown come down from the trees. I'm not prepared so I'm not as strong as I normally am at this moment they are the stronger ones.
Jenny (the leader of the crown) steps forward and says "well peter it's been a while. Who's this?". She gestures to Hannah.
"I'm Hannah and who might you be?" Hannah asks. I'm proud of her for speaking confidently .
"I'm Jenny and we are the people who have come to save you from Peter Pan" Jenny speaks. I look over at Hannah but she's already looking at me shockingly.
"Why would I need to be protected from him?" Hannah asks calmly.
"Have you ever had a brother?" Jenny asks. I hoped she wouldn't ask this.
"When I was younger yes. But he..." Before Hannah could finish Jenny blurts "died". Hannah nods but looks confused. "Your friend Peter Pan is the man who killed your brother. He found him sitting on a hill outside his house looking at the little village and was listening to his sister being best up by their dad but he couldn't help her because he'd been locked out. A boy came and visited him, told him about Neverland and told him to come with him but he refused as he wanted to stay with his sister and protect her, He was 15 when this happened and you were 10, so Peter Pan got angry and snapped his neck and he died then Peter Pan flew back to Neverland" Jenny murmurs, she looks down in shame and so do I.
Hannah's backed away from me now. How can I lie now there's no way out of this. "Hannah if I knew it was your brother I wouldn't of I was just angry" I try to say but it doesn't work. "Shut up. I can't believe it was you, he was all I had left I started to trust you".
"She starts crying I go over to comfort her but she pushes me away and screams "your a murderer. Jenny does he always kill people?" Hannah asks.
"Yes" Jenny says looking sad.
Hannah aims an arrow at me and let's go of it I can't find the will to stop her and it hits me right in the chest.
I fall to the floor in pain. Hannah's now at my side but Jenny's telling her to leave me. Hannah's screaming at them and she says "I'm so sorry I thought you were going to grab it before it hit you".
"I was in pain already and I couldn't even lift my arm I was so shocked and sad.
I pull out the arrow and heal it. She steps back looks at me then says "why did you lie to me, why didn't you tell me you were a killer instead of tricking me into thinking you were innocent?" Hannah asks. "Because I was myself around you, I was good and I liked it so I didn't want to scare you away" I say sadly.
"You already have" she says. She turns to Jenny and asks "can I come with you?".
I can't lose her, not now, not ever.
"Of course you can Hannah" Jenny says. Hannah smiles at her nods gratefully and turns to me and says "goodbye Peter Pan". She starts to walk off but I can't lose her, I grab her wrist and say "please don't leave, I...I love it when I'm with you, please stay. I'll protect you from everyone and everything".
"The only thing I need protecting from Peter is you".
I feel like my heart has just been ripped right out of me. She turns to leave but I won't let her.
I grab her pull her into me and fly.
She's screaming now. "Hannah nooooo" Jenny and the others say.
I put her down right in the middle of the camp. "How dare you" she screams at me.
"I'm sorry just let me explain" I try to say but she starts hitting me. I catch her arm and pull her into me. I feel like maybe I've finally found someone, and I think she feels it too by the way she looks at me, she steps back slowly and says "your not going to let me go are you?" She asks already knowing the answer.
I nod in agreement. She turns to my tent and says "ill be in your tent then"she then walks into the tent and I follow.
