Chapter 77

1 YEAR LATER

"Aaron please check if Sky is awake already"" sabi ko habang nagluluto ng agahan.  Aaron went upstairs to check Sky.

"He's not yet awake mommy" Sabi ni Aaron habang papalapit sa akin "Mommy, can I help you cook?"he asked.

"Hmmm...of course. Come here. Crack those eggs" inabot ko sa kanya ang bowl at eggs para i crack niya. So he did.

"What's next mommy?"

"Mix the eggs" then he mixed the eggs that are on the bowl. "Very good" sabi ko sa kanya. We'll have bacon and eggs for breakfast. 

While Aaron and I were  busy cooking the telephone rang. So minadali ko ang pag punta sa sala para sagutin ito

"Hello?"

[hija, it's been a while]

Kung hindi ako nagkakamali boses yun ni mama....yung mama ni Peter

"Ma Oo nga ang tagal na mula nung huli tayong nagkausap. What made you call me?"

[Ahmm...namiss ka lang kasi namin and also the little angels Aaron and Sky]

"Namiss din po namin kayo. Why don't you come in our place ma? I'm sure Aaron and Sky will be glad at it"

[Yeah...That's why I call you. We're having a business meeting and we are really close to your place.  We'll come over if it's okay with you?]

"Of course ma. You're always welcome in our place at kung andito lang si Peter, I'm sure matutuwa yun mama's boy eh"

Natigil ako sa sinabi ko. Hindi ko maiwasana ng kirot sa puso ko habang inaalala ang mga panahon namin ni Peter sa Isla Verde. I miss my Peter so much

[Hija? are you still there?]

Pagkasabi nun ni mama ay agad akong nabalik sa reayalidad

"Yes po. You we're saying..?"

[I said maybe after lunch na kami makakarating diyan. And I think we'll be spending the night there]

"Okay na okay po. I'll ready the guest room"

[Thank you hija. My son didn't fail to find a woman as good as you are. I'll hang up. Bye]

tsaka binaba na ni mama ang tawag.

Pqgkatapos naming mag agahan ay hinanda ko na ang guest room na pagtutulugan nila mama.

"I MISS YOU SO MUCH ANAK" bati  ni mama nang makapasok sila sa bahay. He hugged me so as Aaron and Sky.

"I miss you too mama" I said while I hug her back "Aaron, Sky greet your grandma and grandpa" sabi ko kina Sky at Aaron. Aaron is really spoiled by his grandpa. Mula nang dumating si Aaron We treated him as if he was from me and Peter. We never made him feel na ampon siya. We love him as our own just like Sky.

"So how have you been?" Tanong ni mama. Sky and Aaron are with papa kaya kami lang ni mama ang nasa sala ngayon nag uusap.

"I've been doing great ma. Thanks to Alys and Lance, sila kasi ang parati kong takbuhan kapag may kailangan ako"

"You could have always ask help from us"

"I know ma pero nasa isla kayo at  nakakatawa naman siguro kung tatawagin ko kayo para lang bilhan ng diaper si Sky diba?" I chuckled slightly

"Sabagay nga.So how's Aaron doing?"

"He's doing great ma. Especially in school. He excels a lot and I'm so proud of him"

Aaron is not just a good kid, he is also an intelligent one. I heard a lot of positive feedbacks from his teachers so as with some parents  and they are really overwhelmed of Aaron's behavior.

"I can see it in your eyes Behati. Aaron wouldn't excel this much without you guiding him" Mama said. I just smile.  Ito ang huling bilin ni Peter sa akin. To love our kids and to raise them with principle. To teach them to be strong and give importance not only to their life but also for the life of others.

"Hija, how about your work?" tanong ni mama sa akin

"Alys and I started to put up a business and in a short time progressive naman ang negosyo namin"

"Did you quit already being a pilot? Did you leave UASA?"

"Actually, I want to quit" mapaot akong ngumiti

"But why? Anak, think about it again"

"Ma, I cannot be a hero again that the world look up to. I have kids already and I am a mother, a father and a hero to them" Sumulyap ako sa mga anak namin na masayang naglalaro kasama ang lolo nila. My kids need me "Aaminin ko na a part of me wanted to stay. It is always my dream to aviate but I already had enough I think. Before Sky came out from my womb I was thinking twice pero noong lumabas na siya at nakita ko ang asul niyang mga mata. I've made up my mind na I'll quit from the organization" I said

I can see sadness in mama's eyes

"It's your choice pa din anak but let me tell you this, if my son was here, he wouldn't allow you to quit. Alam ko na he will object your thoughts of quitting and encourage you to live your dreams. Knowing Peter" napailing iling si mama. Nabaling ang tingin ko sa picture frame ni Peter na nasa center table.

Ano kaya ang buhay namin kapag nandito siya?I'm sure we will be happier than we are today.
Ano kaya ang mga kalokohan na gagawin nila ng mga anak namin?  How does it feel to be complete in the dining table? How does it feel not to have an empty pillow beside you at night? How does it feel to wake up and see your husband doing sweet things on you?

"Hija okay ka lang?" nabalik ako sa reyalidad nang tawagin ako ni mama at doon ko lang na realize na may mga luha na palang tumutulo mula sa mga mata ko. Agad ko itong pinahid

"Yes po ma. Na carried away lang" then I smile again. A smile full of pain.

Then, my phone rang

Commander Mitts calling....

"Excuse me for a while ma, sasagutin ko lang 'to"  I excused myself then we t to the garden and answered the call.

"Hello?"

[Behati it's been a while. How are you?]

"I'm good"

[well, I just want to ask your answer about your resignation whether you'll go with it or not]

"I've made up my mind commander. I'm quitting"

[Sad to hear that. UASA will be loosing a great pilot]

"There are always a lot of aspiring pilots out there"

[No one will ever be like you Behati. Anyways, will you come here to the UASA headquarters  to sign some papers for your resignation. You really need to come to process it. The chairman will not be around tomorrow and for the next 6 months]

"I don't know if I could but I'll try"

[okay. I'll hang up then. bye]

"bye"

Nagpaalam ako kina Mama na pupunta ako sa UASA headquarters. Okay lang naman sa kanila at sila na daw ang bahala kina Aaron at Sky
