(Arthur's POV)

My father insisted that I attend one of his meetings. Everything I understood was blablabla. I know that as a prince I have to fulfill obligations, but that's just too boring. Merlin would have had to wake me up this morning but he did not come. Where is the idiot? I can't stop thinking about him, his smile from yesterday was so adorable. I began to smile.

"Right Arthur?", my father asked. He tore me from my thoughts. I did not listen so I did not know what to answer.
"Ehm y-yes father", I stuttered.
"Great! You start riding at sunrise!", Said father and left the room. Confused, I looked at the other knights.
"You have to ride in the forest and look for magicians", said knight Leon. I gave him a grin and went to find Merlin. First I went to Gaius. "Merlin is sleeping," said Gaius. Angrily, I trudged into Merlin's room. He was fast asleep and looked incredibly sweet. His leg hung down from the edge of the bed and his hair was muddled. Why do I think that's cute? I took his blanket and pulled her away. "Get up, bum," I shouted. Merlin woke up and looked at me totally sleepy. "Yes sir," he muttered.
"Saddle up the horses, we're still riding today", I ordered and went back to the castle. He is an idiot. An idiot who makes me smile.

(Knocking noise)

"Come in!". It was Merlin. "Everything is ready for our journey, sir," he said. I got up from the desk and asked Merlin to help me put on my armor. I took off my shirt and noticed that Merlin was staring at me.
"What?", I asked him confused and looked down at me.
"Do I have to touch you?" He asked. "Ehm yes Merlin otherwise I do not get the armor. What is? Will you help me or not?". He came to help me. In the mirror I could see how Merlin turned red in the face. "Good, thanks," I said and went down to the horses.
After an hour of riding we took a break. "Merlin throw me a water bag over," I shouted. Merlin just looked at me confused and guilty. "Seriously? You can not rely on yourself, "I said and went down to the river.

(Merlins POV)

"You can not rely on you blabla," I thought to myself. I crouched next to Arthur at the river and brought a handful of water to my mouth. Something cracked in the woods and the horses were startled, just like Arthur. He fell into the river and I started to laugh.
"Merliiiin! It is not funny!", he yells.
"You're right, I'm sorry Sir, let me help"
I stood on the shore and held out my hand to Arthur to pull him out. He took my hand and pulled me into the water.
"Arthurrrr!", I cried. He started to laugh.
He has such a nice laugh. I splashed him with water and he just started laughing. What an angel. Ehm what? I can not think that. "I'm going out," I said.
"Sure, Merlin? You have some dirt there", he said.
"Really? Where?". He came to me and nudged my nose with his finger.
"Right there," he said and started again with laughing.

Okay, I admit that I find him cute. But that does not change our situation. I am only his servant.
"Come Merlin, we have to ride back before it gets dark," said Arthur, riding off. As we passed big rocks, a dark feeling came over me. "Arthur stop!"
"What is?"
"Something's wrong here". Arthur got off his horse and drew his sword. Suddenly it stank terribly of dead animals. I could hear a kind of growl.
"What is that?", asked Arthur but I just shrugged my shoulders.  Suddenly a huge animal jumped out of the bushes. It was a lion with wings of an eagle. He ran to Arthur and jumped at him. Arthur's head hit a rock and he fell unconscious.
"Arthur!", I yells. I reached out and said a spell. "Kengai osei tribam karai!" The animal flew away and I ran to Arthur. I put his head on my lap and tried to wake him up. He slowly opened his eyes and muttered to himself.
"What happened?" He mumbled. "You have defeated him" I lied to him. He got up again. "I knew it. Nothing can stop me, "he said, sitting on his horse.  "Now he is even more conceited than before, great, Merlin" I thought to myself.
We rode back and the rest of the day I got free. I helped Gaius a little more in the household and then went to sleep. What a beautiful day.
