The sound of police sirens combined with the loud burglar alarm were all that could be heard as twins Riley and Billy Batson stood before Bishop's Pawn Shop patiently waiting. Riley tapped her foot against the ground and leaned against the wall.
She subconsciously messed with the hem of her faded Superman shirt as she watched the police car pull into the parking lot before stopping in front of the pawn shop.
Billy looked over at his twin and gave her a small smile which she returned before pushing herself off of the wall and walking over to join her brother. She leaned against his shoulder and the twins watched as two police officers, a man and a woman, got out of their car.
"Holy moly! The boys in blue!" Billy exclaimed in fake excitement, but the cops didn't seem to notice. "We sure are glad to see you," Riley said as she faked a sigh relief. "We called as soon as we saw."
Billy nodded his head in agreement before pointing at the pawn shop behind them. "They're in there," Billy told them.
Both of the police officers turned to look at the store, their hands falling down to their guns that rested on their hip. "You two stay here," the male officer said before him and his partner started to walk towards the pawn shop.
The two officers walked in the shop while the twins walked up to stand in the doorway. "Police!" the male cop called out. His partner cut off the alarm and they hesitantly stepped forward before looking back at the kids.
"I saw them hide back in there," Billy told them as he pointed to the backroom. They stared at them for a minute and Riley gave them a look before pointing back behind them. They sighed and turned back around before heading over to the backroom.
"Police coming in," the female officer said. "Police!" The male cop yelled. The female officer opened up the door and Riley smirked as she glanced at her brother. The twins slowly took a few steps back from the door while they watched the female officer walk into the back before looking around and saying, "There's nobody here."
"You really bought that, huh?" Billy asked as he grabbed ahold of the door. The officers turned to look at the twins and Riley sighed before shaking her head as she made a small 'tsk' sound. "We excepted more from you two," Riley told them in fake disappointment.
Billy then shut the door and the police officers looked at the kids with wide eyes. "Hey!" They yelled as Billy and Riley ran over and began jumping up to try and grab the metal gate to pull down over the front of the store.
Once realizing that they wouldn't be able to grab it, Billy held his hands out and Riley stepped onto them before he pushed her up. The blonde grabbed ahold of the gate and pulled it down. Billy then set her down and the two grabbed either side of the gate before pulling it all the way down and latching it closed right as the police officers made it to the door.
