The tension radiating between the Batson twins was one that everyone could see. They were avoiding the other like the plague and made a point to always keep at least one person in between them which tended to be Freddy since Riley was always by his side.

Both tried to look as angry and frustrated as possible, but their eyes gave away the fact that both of them were silently suffering without their twin by their side.

Riley and Billy had never had this big of a fight before, so neither knew how to handle it. So they handled it the only way they could think of, by not talking to each other.

This only made things worse and the whole house had become silent, the awkwardness and tension being enough to make even Darla quiet. Neither twin touched their breakfast that morning and the car ride to school was probably the longest car ride any of them had been on.

Darla, Eugene, Pedro, and Mary were practically sprinting out of the van by the time they arrived at school and Mary sent Freddy an apologetic look before wishing him good luck. Freddy shook his head in disbelief at his siblings while they all hurried away from where Riley and Billy were.

The twins stopped on either side of Freddy and the boy glanced at them before sighing. "Come on. We're going to be late," Freddy muttered. Neither of the twins said a word and instead followed the boy as he made his way up the stairs of the school.

They were almost to the entrance when Billy looked up at the school in disinterest and asked, "Why am I still doing this?"

"You can't skip every day," Freddy told him even though he was still mad at Billy too. "Not at your age," Billy retorted and Riley looked at her brother for the first time that day. "I'm not your age anymore."

"You're still almost fifteen, Billy. Whether you look like it or not," Riley argued. Billy rolled his eyes. "Great, so the first thing you're going to say to me is something that's going to try and start an argument?" Billy asked in annoyance. Riley glared at her brother, but he was already moving on.

Billy just glanced at the two before shrugging and turning and walking back down the stairs. He began to walk down the sidewalk while Riley crossed her arms and scoffed at her brother.

"But we can go with you! You just got to trick the guard out, you know, and then. . .Billy, where are you going? You're still going to have lunch with me right? Billy! Sir Zapsalot's still gonna eat in the cafeteria, right?" Freddy asked in a panic, but Billy didn't even bother turning around.

Riley glanced at the boy next to her that was starting to panic and she frowned before running after her brother. He was half way down the sidewalk when she grabbed his shoulder and turned him around.
