Title : My heart is the worst type of weapon - FOB
Ryans p.o.vThe sun wakes me up earlier then I would prefer. Its beams manages to claw through my flimsy curtains and casts its light over me. But I don't mind. I didn't have a nightmare last night but that just makes me scared of having one tonight, I never went longer then two days without one of them. Bredons name rings through my mind and I remember our short encounter last night. I'm not used to being interested in people but there's something about him thats... New. And I like it.
I swing my feet over my bed and climb out. My clock reads 5:28. It's so fucking early. No one will be up at this time. I walk over to my window and decide to take advantage of the sun. We barely ever get good weather here and for some reason I feel like taking advantage of the serenity of the early morning. The house is quite which is a pleasant change to the normal voices booming through the walls. I lean my back into the wall of the window seat. I let my head rock back and watch the street below me. I can't remember the last time I was this calm. I'm about to doze off again when I hear the shower turn on. Who showers this early? The bathrooms right next to my room and no one ever showers this early, I would've heard them before. Soon a voice joins the sounds. It's soft and melodic and I'm caught in it. It must brendon. I walk silently over to the wall to hear him better.
"take your taste back, peel back your skin. And try to forget how it feels inside. You should try saying no once in a while, oh! one in a while..."
I love this song. Fall out boy have been a favourite of mine for a while now. I debate for a second before walking over to my guitar. I pick it up and start paying the chords to the song. Bredons singing stops momenterally but I keep playing. The shower turns off and After a few bars he joins back in. I start to sing a harmony over his melody and we continue until the end of the song. As I play the last chord I find that I'm smiling. I haven't played guitar in ages. And Brendon... Hes voice is stunning. I put my guitar back and slowly open my door. I see brendon, a towel around his waist standing sheepishly in the corridor. I drag my eyes away from his half naked body and force myself to stare into his eyes.
"you have a great voice." I say, watching him blush at my complement.
"so do you... And you're, you're guitar was great too." he responds. I smile at him and retreat back into my room.
As the door closes I let out a deep breathe. I flop onto my bed and try to get my head around everything that happened. This is the most social interaction I've had in years and it's safe to say im already exhausted. But there's something about that boy that makes it worth it.
"everybody up! You all have to go to school at some point! Breakfast will be ready in an hour!" Jane yells, knocking on each of our doors as she paces along the corridors. I drag myself from my bed and hurry into the shower before anyone else. I Grin at the annoyed groans from the people forming the que outside the door. It's there fault for not being quick enough. I finish up and get dressed and am second down to breakfast. Only beaten by brendon. He looked adorable in the his uniform and his hair was still slightly damp from his shower. He had his sleeves rolled up and his tie was slightly squint against his chest. He caught me looking at him and I feel a fierce blush over take my normally pale face. I quickly take a seat in my normal chair, which just happened to be two away from brendon. I hope he didn't think it was rude to not sit next to him... Or maybe he would've thought that was creepy if I'd just sat next to him... Or maybe...
The door swings open, distracting me from my train of thought and a stampede of adolescents tumble into the room and plop down into their seats. Spencer took the seat Inbetween brendon and I and I couldn't help but notice the dissapointing feeling in my stomach. The other kids briefly acknowledged Bredon, a few "hello" s and "what's your name"s thrown his way, but no one was overly fussed. We're all used to people coming and going here. Jane came in with the food and after eating we all set off to school in the bus. Ray drives us there while Jane looks after the younger kids. Ray is a tall man with a crazy afro. He was always smiling but would play the worst music. He was harmless.
I sit down in a seat near to the back and plug my headphones in, not willing to hear even a note of Ray's music.
"seat belts on! Time for the bops!" he cried, starting up the bus and turning on his music. I sigh and turn on my own music and stare out the window I get so lost in my staring that I don't notice someone sitting down next to me.
"hey Ryan?" a voice says. I jump and turn to see Bredon was sitting next to me. I stare at him for a moment. Was he mad? No one sits next to me on the bus... Heck no one even talks to me. He raises his eyebrows at me and I realise I haven't answered his question.
"uh... Yeah?" I respond
"do you mind lending me an ear plug? I can't stand Ray's music and I know you have a good music taste... From... From this morning... So I was just wondering..." before he could continue rambling I took out one of my ear pods and handed it to him. He smiled at me thankfully and pushed it into his ear. Fall out boy was playing and as it got the chorus Brendon started singing along, pulling weird faces accompained with a stunning performance in the air guitar. I found myself laughing uncontrollably at him and he smiled at me, a true big smile. Maybe this is why people have friends.
The bus pulled up into the school parking lot and Brendon gave me back my headphone. We slowly got up and were the last off the bus. I thank Ray and he smiles at me. "hope you liked the music Ryan, you know I play it especially for you." he laughs, knowing how much I hate it. Brendon giggles at my pained expression and my heart skips a beat. "I loved it Ray. Absolutely loved it." I respond, sarcasm dripping off of every sylabl. I can still hear Ray laughing as I jump off the bus. I turn and see Brendon looking around sheepishly.
"is this your first day?" I ask him. I had assumed he would have stayed at the same school before he moved into the home. They dont often make you change schools. And it wouldn't be surprising if I hadn't seen him before, I barely talk to anyone. Brendon nods at me in response and I walk over to him.
"let's see your timetable." I say, holding out my hand for the paper. He brings it out of his pocket and attempts to flatten it before handing it to me. I examine it to find we have most of our classes together.
"here, I'll walk you to your classes, we have mostly the same ones." i say, handing him back his paper and walking into the school. We walk to first period, French. As we enter the class the bell rings and the teacher starts the lesson. Bredon sits next to me and as no one sits next to me normally, the teacher leaves us alone. We sit in silence for most of the period but it's not awkward. I like the quite.
We spend the rest of the day together, me showing him around and making sure he got to classes okay. I received a few weird looks as people don't normally see me with other people. But I don't care. I feel like I finally have a friend.
