~Amor's POV~
His eyes widen when that leaves my mouth. I knew if I let him go on, he'd end up asking those four words and I'd feel even worse. Self hatred rushes to the surface more than ever as I remember what his thoughts on marriage were and how he wanted that with me, and I fucking did this to him.
"With Adriel?" He asks, sighing and sitting down on the edge of the bed. I nod, swallowing down the lump in my throat. I don't have the right to cry in this situation. I caused this for myself. "Wow."
"I'm so sorry," I say. "I know it probably just seems like I'm saying that to try and make it better, but I really am. I never wanted this to happen, but-"
"It just did," he finishes sadly. He squeezes his eyes together like I've noticed he does when he doesn't want to cry. "I don't know why I feel surprised."
"What do you mean?"
"I had a feeling something would happen as soon as I seen him the first day he came back," he explains. "It was just the way you two looked around each other. It looked, as much as I don't want to, looked right."
I quickly wipe away a stray tear that escaped. "I'm so sorry," I say, not able to stop the tears now. He gets up, cupping my face in his hands and wiping away my tears with the pads of his thumbs. I can't help but lean into his touch.
"I love you," he says.
"I love you too," I say. "You probably don't believe that now, but I do." He presses his lips to mine, his lips soft and gentle with mine. It's so different from with Adriel; he's so dominate and demanding in these moments.
"I believe you, you just got caught up in something," he says. "And even though I'm in love with you, I want you to be happy even if that's not with me. It's obvious you still have something with Adriel, and you need to figure that out with me out of the way. I believe that if this is really meant to be, like how I feel it is, that we'll find our way back to each other. Right now, I think you need to work this out."
I nod, finally containing my tears again. "Aren't you supposed to be mad and screaming at me?" He chuckles, giving me a pain filled smile.
"Even if I wants to, I couldn't do that to you."
AN: Ahh I'm sorry for the cliffhanger last night (or this morning). I love Luz sooooo much. His character is literally the perfect guy but noooooo I left it up to you guys all you guys wanted Adriel. So, hope you're happy 😑 I really hope you guys enjoyed!
