there's always a light at the end of the tunnel

"why are you here?"

jungkook's watchful eyes stared as taehyung's once confident form approached him. things were drastically different now.

"i come here to think."

the tension was thick between them, and taehyung didn't like it. jungkook was the one person—asides from jimin—who he had told everything since they had been little.

as he sat down, jungkook noticed the evident distance between them. and the small bag sitting next to taehyung's legs. without a further word, he grabbed the bag and glanced inside, checking to see what exactly taehyung had bought from the pharmacy nearby.

he scoffed. "sleeping pills? seriously taehyung?"

"don't tell sooyoung." he whispered back. "or jennie."

"why the hell are you taking sleeping pills?"

"i can't sleep."

"okay." jungkook rolled his eyes. "you think i'm gonna believe that?"

"yes?" taehyung questioned. "besides, why do you even care what i do?"

"i can't believe you. why are you so resistant to people helping you?"

"you're supposed to be mad at me!"

"and i am!" jungkook yelled back. "i'm so mad at you taehyung! y-you made me break up with lalisa, but you also made me get my shit together. had you not done that, i wouldn't have been sure how exactly i felt about eunji this whole time."

"stop thinking that you're the one at fault all the time, it isn't always about you."

he heard taehyung force a small laugh under his breath.

"and i don't want to believe that you'd use those pills for what i think you would. you better not. don't run away from your problems. be a man, we're graduating in a little more than a month. don't you want to end this year right? with a diploma?"

taehyung supposed he was right.

"i'm sorry."

"i know you are."
