JUGHEAD POV

Oh yes, a doctor's appointment. Even in a hospital, I have scheduled times to go see a doctor and get my blood taken for something like that...which means Betty is going to be there too.

I put my beanie on and Betty straightened my Oxygen tube. She then started patting on my back and held a cup in front of me. I got up a few globs of mucus and she threw the cup away. We then went to the doctor's office and I laid down on the bed and Betty sat by me. I had at least 3 different doctors and then nurse Jolene who checked on my constantly. I had Dr. Smith, my x-ray doctor person who knows how to diagnose it. Then there was Dr. Miller and he was the doctor I went to for appointments. Last but not least, Dr. Yang. She was the doctor that gave me all of my surgeries. I didn't like my doctors because they were always bothering me about my pills and treatments and everything. I really just wanted to get the appointment done and over with.

"Hello Jughead, how are you today?" Dr. Miller asked.

"I'm breathing just fine." I smiled. We chuckled and then got out the long tubes and hooked it into the water machine. I had to remove my Oxygen tube and he had to shove to tube up my nose. Then he did the same with the other one. He pressed the button and then water came into my sinuses and to my chest. It was very painful but it was normal. I had 2 of these appointments a month.

After 5-minutes, Dr. Miller stopped the machine and pulled the tubes out of my nose. He asked Betty to pat me on the back a lot and he held a cup in front of me. I ended up couching a lot and getting so many globs of mucus in the cup. I put my oxygen tube on and all of a sudden, it felt like I could breathe again. He then got 6 syringes, and put 3 in each arm. He then got a needle and drew a tube of blood to be examined. We got done and left the office.

"Why don't we go back to your room and do another breathing treatment for 10-minutes and then we can go get lunch. After lunch, you need to take 8 pills." Betty insisted. I scoffed and shook my head.

"Betty! Live a little!" I yelled. She went over to a stand and got 2 masks and 4 gloves. She gave 1 mask to me and 2 gloves for me as well. She kept the same for herself and we walked down the hallway.

"We are gonna go to the tennis court, Betty."

"No! We should turn around to do your treatments and I think a nap would do you some good."

"Betty, it's really adorable that you care...but I'm almost at stage 3, Emphysema. You need to let me live a little." I rolled my eyes. Went to the tennis court and we started playing for a while. We played for about 30-minutes and then we went to the library.

"Isn't this where you live, Betty?" I asked. She smirked and rolled her eyes. She elbowed me and walked off. We spent about 10 minutes looking for books and we checked out. Betty had 7 books to check out and I had 2. We got the books and I realized all the books were over the same topic.

"Emphysema"
"COPD"
"Lung Disease"
"Cystic Fibrosis"
"Lung Cancer"

I rolled my eyes and walked out of the library with my books. I was in the hallway walking and she had her 7 books and coming after me.

"Jughead!" I heard her yell. I turned around and she groaned.

"Do you realize how lucky you are to be alive?! How you have people that want to help you?! Your parents, sister, Archie, and I! I'm here so I can help you live another day!"

"It doesn't matter, Betty!"

"It matters to me! I heard Dr. Smith! You're not getting any better and it's because you don't take anything seriously!" Betty yelled. I started to cough and it got worse. The horrible pain in my chest and I couldn't breathe at all. Betty ran over to me and pat my back and got my inhaler and gave it to me. I took many deep breaths on it and I sighed. Betty looked at me with sad eyes and I groaned.

"I literally can't stand you and your cuteness, Betty Cooper."

"You're gonna thank me one day, Jones." She smiled and pulled my arm. We got to my room and made me take my 8 pills and then lay down. She put the heavy oxygen mask on me. I took my deep breaths until I drifted off into space.
