"And then it just hit me suddenly! Everything is so...beautiful. So colorful!" Your friend, Tiffany, said to you as she described what it was like meeting her soulmate.

"So you can actually see in color?" You asked, surprised.

"Yeah, everything is so much better in color." She tells you, giggling and blushing.

Soulmates. They were a funny thing, you know. When someone is born, they are born with no color in their vision at all. Meaning everything was monotone and black and white. Monochromatic, as one would say. Though, those who ever got to see in color were lucky. When you locked eyes with your soulmate, or the love of your life, you gain colored vision. You were a different case though. You were born with the rare ability to see colors from birth, meaning that your soulmate existed, but it would be impossible to see who they were since your vision would never change even if you locked eyes with them.

You huffed, "I don't think i'll ever find my soulmate, it could literally be anyone! Plus, I wouldn't know since the colors I see wouldn't even change." You whine to Tiffany.

"Oh cheer up, Y/N! I'm sure that your soulmate will come to you eventually, don't worry." She reassures you, but you look away.

"Tiff, how am I supposed to ever find them? They could be half across the world for all I know!" You tell her, and she giggles.

"Soulmates are destined to meet at some point, right? Also i'm sure your soulmate will know that you're the one because they can't see color- or so i'm assuming." She tells you, making you sigh angrily.

"I'm so sick of the lovey dovey bullshit, like fuck. I need to go outside." You tell her, and she looks at you with sympathy in her eyes.

"Y/N, take all the time you need. I honestly can't imagine the struggle, babe. Must really be hard, come give me a hug, it'll make you feel better!" She jokes, and you smile and roll your eyes at your best friend, giving her a hug.

"Your apartment is so messy dude," You laugh changing the subject, "anyways, i'm gonna head home. See you, Tiff!" You call to her, and she waves back at you.

After closing the door behind you and stepping down the stairs carefully, you return back home and start walking home. It was mid-day, and the sun was shining brightly which brightened your mood a little bit, but you still felt jealous and envied everyone who could actually see their soulmate.

You watched the couples kiss and hold hands, taking cute pictures and selfies together while you stood there, hurting deep down because you doubted that your soulmate even existed at this point.

So many people had love, a soulmate, their 'Violeta,' as you could call it. A colorful, exciting, thrilling, and beautiful feeling called love. Something you had yet to experience for yourself.

You saw an empty park and swing set on your way home, so you decided to sit down and enjoy the solitude all by yourself as you went to the swings. You swung back and forth lightly and delicately, smiling to yourself. Maybe being alone wasn't so bad?

You looked up, and saw lots of people walking by happily. You saw young children, older people, middle aged adults, all destined to find love. You sighed, and suddenly felt your heart stop when you made eye contact with a girl. A beautiful, stunning girl with dark blue-ish hair. She looked at you with big, round eyes, and a shocked expression.

You quickly looked down, avoiding eye contact since you got caught staring for a tad bit too long. The girl didn't move though. No, infact, she just stayed there. She stood there, looking like she was at a loss for any words at all, and she looked like she had seen a ghost.

Unbeknownst to you, she had seen something, not a ghost, but she was seeing color for the first time in 17 years.

She was seeing in color, meaning you were her soulmate. Though you didn't know. She started to walk cautiously over to you, eyeing you up and down, and she took a seat on the swing beside you, still shocked.

"Can I help you?" You ask the girl, as she just kept weirdly staring at you.

"Y-yeah, uh, hi! I'm Billie, and you must be my soulmate." She says suddenly, and you become at a loss for words.

"W..what? How? I've been seeing in color all my life, how would I know if you were even my soulmate?" You ask her, stubbornly.

"Because," She says, "when I locked eyes with you, everything was so colorful, and I saw flashes of red and pink, it was like uh, shocking." She tells you, but you cut her off with a kiss.

You didn't know what took over you, but it felt right. In the moment, you gave her your everything. In the middle of a park, you just kissed her, and man did it feel absolutely right. It felt like everything just randomly fell into place. The soulmate you've been looking for.

"This is so weird." You giggle at the feeling.

"Oh, definitely dude." She says, calming down.

"Yeah." Agree.

"...So you could see color your whole life?" She asks you randomly, and you nod.

"Yeah, since I was born. I was scared I would never find you." You admitted.

"It was weird how I found you actually. I started to see fractions of colors, like I would see flashes of violet, or rose, or red and pink and stuff. The closer I got to you, the more the colors started to show." She explained and you smiled at her.
