I couldn't believe it. Months had passed. We had tried so hard to track Katelyn down using the video. So hard. All for nothing. We hadn't found her. We hadn't.
I'm suppose to be planning a wedding right now. But I can't focus. I can't. She won't be there. It doesn't feel right. It doesn't feel right.
I remember being a little girl, playing over at Katelyn's house and dreaming of having a princess wedding. I dreamed and dreamed and dreamed of it. And Katie, she was always in those dreams.
I hear crying from the other room. I sigh. Alina. We are back at my mom's house for now. It's bigger.
I get off of the couch in my room. Alina didn't want to nap today. I'm surprised she lasted this long.
I enter her room. She's sitting in her bed, bawling her little eyes out. I walk over to her and pick her up.
"My poor little Mija," I soothe. "It's okay."
"I wanna Dadda!" she cries. Aaron's at college right now. I rock her.
"Daddy's not here right now, sweets. Did you have a nightmare?" She looks up at me. I see Derek for a second. It's been months, but he still haunts Aaron's dreams.
"Nighmar?" she sniffs. I stroke her hair. I keep bobbing up and down, up and down, trying to soothe her. She's getting so big. I use to wish she was big enough so I could do things with her, but now I just want her to be newborn again.
"Yes. A nightmare. Did you have a bad dream? Was it scary?"
She nods. My poor darling.
I sit down on her rocking chair, hugging her tight. I wipe her tears off her face with my fingers.
"Your safe now. Mama's here." She lays her head on my shoulder. I stroke her hair.
Nightmares. Why do our minds create things just to scare us? Why? I see Aaron, sweaty and out of breath after a nightmare. I see my Mija sobbing. Why? Where the point?
She sniffles.
"Look at me, Mija," I say. She looks up at me, her eyes red. "If you ever have a nightmare, you come see Mama or Daddy okay?"
She nods. I push a piece of black hair out of her eyes.
"And you know what you can say to us if you have a nightmare?" She shakes her head.
"You can say Ghost." The word leaves my mouth and memories flash. I remember waking up screaming. I remember my mother running and I remember whispering ghost. I remember the worst of the nightmares, right after Travis almost... Travis almost.
I shake my head. I don't know why that memory surfaced, but I want it to stay hidden. It's not like that anymore.
"Ghost?"
"Yeah. Ghost."
I hear the familiar ringtone that belongs to Travis echo from my phone in from the other room.
"Let's go see what Uncle Trav wants shall we?"
She nods, her little head bobbing up and down. I smile. I kiss her forehead gently before standing up. My baby.

"Aphmau, I had an idea."
I'm sitting on the couch, Lina on my lap. She's playing with her dolls.
"What?"
"An idea to find Katelyn."
Katelyn. Travis still is looking for her. It's been so long since I last saw her. So long.
Travis isn't like the rest of us. He hasn't given up. But all our hints have led to nothing. It feels so hopeless.
"Trav, what is it?" I'm starting to doubt we will find her. It's been months.
"What is it, Uncle Trav?" Lina asks.
"What if Katelyn did go farther than Pikiro."
"What?" I feel like a broken record. What? What? What? I'm confused too. What did he mean? Katie wouldn't have the money to go passed Pikiro, would she?
"There's that one bus that goes all the way to Scaleswind, you know." His voice sounds so hopeful. I don't want to crush it.
"I don't think she went to Scaleswind, Trav—"
"No, not, Scaleswind! O'kasis! The bus stops in O'kasis!"
My heart freezes.
Katelyn was born in O'kasis.
"That's where she was born, Aphmau! Just think! There's a Coco's in O'Kasis! Katie could be in O'kasis!"
She could. She could be.
"Hold on," I say, the words barely audible. "Hold on." I have an idea.
"Lina, Mija, I need you to move for a sec, okay? Mama needs her computer."
"Aph, what are you——"
"Shhh," I hush him. Lina happily scoots off my lap, her nightmare forgotten. I pull my laptop off the coffee table and open it. Lina is staring at me.
I open my laptop and quick as I can open the video. I click on the channel, kitkatwolf324 and then open chat. I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner.
Hey, I type. Just curious where can I see Katie Lynne?
I wait, holding my breath. It feels like years until the three dots meaning a reply appear.
At Coco's in O'kasis on Tenth Street.
Happiness fills me.
Any good hotels near there? Or apartments? I'm looking to go on a vacay there.
Yeah. On Firefist Avenue above the apothecary.
How do you know it's good?
You can ask Katie when you see her.
As soon as that message appears it deletes. The woman who owns the channel realizes how dumb it is to say where someone lives on the internet to a random stranger. This makes me think she's a young kid.
"Aphmau?" Travis says. She's deleted the whole conversation now, but it's engraved in my mind. Maybe this isn't Katelyn. But it could be.
"Above the apothecary. Firefist Street. O'kasis."
"What?" It's Travis's turn to be confused. I smile.
"What is it, Mama?" Lina asks, shaking my leg.
"Aph?
"I've found Katelyn." I'm shouting. "I found her, Travis! I've found her!"
I can barely hear what Travis says because I'm shouting with joy, so Alina's shouting and my mom has come running asking what is wrong.
I can't answer her. All I can do is smile.
I'm coming for you Katelyn.
