My heart is thumping. Thump. Thump. Thump.
My hands wrap around the cold metal railing. I'm standing on the balcony, trying to take it all in. It's almost too much. I knew this would happen, or at least I thought it would, but it just feels more real now.
She said she loves me. She said she loved me.
My Katie loves me still. She loves me still.
"Hey," a voice says from behind me. "Sup, lover boy." I turn around and it's her.
"Hey," I say. She sits on the railing perfectly balanced. There's an awkward silence. Should I say something? What do I say? It's been so long, I don't know what to do. I don't want to do the wrong thing.
"I didn't mean to hurt you," she says quietly. "I didn't mean to hurt anyone."
"I know." My Irene how lame is that. I know. I look up into her eyes. The same eyes I fell in love with. I gently brush her hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. "My Irene, I've missed you."
She laughs awkwardly.
"Not a day went by without me thinking about you," she whispers.
"I never gave up. I never stoped searching for you," I breathe, my voice barely audible.
"Why?"
"Because I love you fire girl." My eyes begin to water. She looks away.
"I'm so sorry. I was so stupid," her voice breaks.
"Don't be sorry. We're together now."
I place my hand on top of her's.
"I shouldn't have ran. I should of just told you, I should of told you about Abby and...."
I cut her off my placing my lips on hers.
It's been so long. So long. I feel passion erupt in me. Our tears merge together.
When I first kissed her I was afraid. Afraid she wouldn't kiss back. Now I'm afraid of the same thing.
She kisses back.
Her arms wrap around my neck and she leans into me.
It almost feels like she never left. It almost feels like we were back to that week before graduation just two foolish kids. Almost.
"Wow, lovebirds."
We break apart. Aphmau. Katelyn hops off the railing. I don't think Aph is really mad at Katelyn anymore. I don't think she is. Maybe a little. I was so shocked when Aphmau yelled at her. She never yells at Katelyn. Or swears for that matter.
But we are all very different now.
Katie wipes her tears with her sleeves. I feel the soft cotton fabric of my hoodie as I do the same.
"Hey, Aph," Katelyn almost sounds timid. Nervous is the word I might use.
"I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I yelled. I shouldn't have."
"It's okay."
Aphmau shakes her head, her dark hair flying behind her.
"No. It's not. My temper is something I have to work on controlling."
"Mine too."
Katelyn's temper seems better now. She seems less violent.
I lean back against the rail and feel the cold metal between my fingers.
"Hug?" Aphmau says.
"Yeah."
My heart fills with warmth as I they embrace. Just like old times.
My Irene do I feel old saying that. Old times. I sound like a grandpa.
As the pull away, I notice Aphmau's engagement ring sparkle in the afternoon sun. I remember feeling so happy for her when she told me. But also sad. Sad because I thought that maybe that would never happen for Katie and I.
Katelyn notices it too.
"What's that?"
She's missed so much. It makes my heart ache. Aphmau smiles mischievously.
"What this," she says flaunting her hand in Katelyn's face.
"Yes, that," Katelyn laughs. Just like old times.
"That, my dear Katie, is my engagement ring."
"WHAT!" I wince. She's loud enough to wake people in Starlight. Just like old Katelyn.
"Yes. There is a wedding coming up in  six months."
"You. Getting. Married. To. Aaron."
"No, to Rio," Aphmau says rolling her eyes. I laugh.
"I've missed so much." Katelyn says quietly.
"Well then, I'll catch you up," Aphmau and I sat at the exact same time.
"You guys are the best."
"I know," Aphmau says, flipping her hair. It's so long it smacks Katelyn in the face.
"You guys, lunch time!" Lucinda calls. "Also, I have a hungry baby in my lap so it be nice if you were quick."
Ah yes. Lucinda was explaining to what's her name... Donna?.... while she made lunch. It kinda hurts to know Katelyn basically started a new life here, but there is nothing I can do. We are together now. That's all that matters.
"Coming!" Aphmau calls. "Come on, lovebirds!"
Katelyn turns to me. She slips her hand into mine.
"I've missed you so bad."
"Me too, sunshine."
"I love you."
"Love you forever."
"I'll love you for eternity."
Even though we had been through a lot, when she said that, I knew that everything will be alright.

Just a few more chapters left! Ahh I'm so excited!!! Still trying to decide which I'm going to do next, the prequel or sequel!
I loved writing the Travelyn so much! I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. Also I just see Aphmau putting aside her anger and being happy to have Katelyn back again don't you?
Anyways I hope you guys enjoyed.
